Description
This role is for someone who can lead the analytical and delivery engine of commercial excellence work. You will help diagnose what is limiting commercial performance, turn complex data into clear insight, and translate recommendations into tools, processes and behaviours that business units can actually adopt.
The impact is practical rather than theoretical: pricing tools, margin analysis, bid evaluation templates, sales pipeline tracking, process documentation, training material and stakeholder-ready recommendations. You will lead workstreams, guide analysts and consultants, and help senior stakeholders make better commercial decisions across a large transformation environment.
Profile for Success
Strong candidates will be able to show evidence of:
- Leading analytical modules or workstreams in consulting, strategy, commercial analytics or business performance-improvement environments.
- Diagnosing pricing, margin, sales-effectiveness, contracting or commercial-process issues using quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Building or rolling out commercial tools, models, templates, process documentation, training materials or adoption-support mechanisms.
- Creating executive-level consulting deliverables with clear storylines, recommendations and decision support.
- Operating in high-intensity, multi-stakeholder programme environments with tight timelines and rapid iteration.
- Managing senior stakeholders while also mentoring analysts or consultants.
- Using Excel, PowerBI or similar analytical tools to structure analysis and communicate insight.
- Holding a postgraduate degree in a relevant field; MBA, CFA or similar quantitative / business qualification is advantageous.
Minimum requirements:
- 4–7 years’ experience in management consulting, private-sector strategy, commercial analytics, business performance improvement or similar.
- Demonstrated experience leading analytical workstreams or modules.
- Proven capability in commercial analytics and diagnostics.
- Exposure to implementation, rollout, adoption tracking or commercial toolset development.
- Cape Town base or credible relocation commitment.
- South African ID or permanent residence.
- Valid passport and willingness to travel internationally.
