Job Description
- Install, configure, administer, and maintain Oracle Database, Microsoft SQL Server, and middleware systems for customer environments
- Monitor, administer, and optimize the health, performance, and availability of database and middleware systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve database and middleware-related technical issues, ensuring timely resolution of customer incidents
- Create, implement, and maintain database backup and recovery strategies to ensure business continuity
- Implement and maintain security measures and best practices to safeguard database and middleware systems from unauthorized access
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the integration of database and middleware systems with enterprise applications
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including configuration details, operational procedures, and support documentation
- Provide technical support to customers and address database and middleware-related queries and concerns
- Stay updated with emerging database and middleware technologies, industry trends, and best practices to continuously enhance technical competencies
Person Specification
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in Database Administration, Middleware Administration, or a related IT field
- Demonstrate hands-on experience in Oracle Database and/or Microsoft SQL Server administration and support
- Possess knowledge of database management systems such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL
- Demonstrate experience in configuring and maintaining middleware platforms such as Oracle WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, or JBoss
- Possess knowledge of database and middleware security principles, protocols, and industry best practices
- Demonstrate strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Possess good communication, interpersonal, and customer support skills
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
- Exhibit a willingness to learn, adapt to new technologies, and continuously enhance technical competencies
- Professional certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Microsoft SQL Server certifications, or other relevant database or middleware certifications will be considered an added advantage
