Responsibilities:
Develop, validate, and optimize vulcanization processes for rubber products, including the establishment of curing temperature, pressure, cycle time, and mold parameters.
Analyze and resolve vulcanization-related quality issues, such as under-curing, over-curing, air traps, cracks, deformation, and mold sticking.
Create, maintain, and continuously improve process documentation, including process specifications, Operation Process Instructions (OPI), PFMEA, Control Plans, and Work Instructions.
Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) and APQP activities, supporting prototype builds, trial production runs, and mass production launches.
Drive equipment automation and process improvement initiatives to enhance Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), product yield, and manufacturing efficiency.
Collaborate with Quality, R&D, and Production teams in root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities.
Provide technical training and on-site process support related to vulcanization operations.
Ensure manufacturing processes comply with IATF 16949 requirements, as well as environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience in vulcanization process engineering for automotive rubber products or rubber-to-metal bonded components.
Strong knowledge of compression molding, injection molding, and transfer molding processes and their applications.
Solid understanding of rubber vulcanization mechanisms, crosslinking systems, and common elastomer materials such as NR, SBR, EPDM, NBR, and HNBR.
Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement skills, with hands-on experience using quality tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, and 8D methodology.
Familiarity with IATF 16949 requirements and automotive core tools, including APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
Good communication, coordination, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional environments.
