Director Revenue Cycle Reporting and Analytics

Overview

Advances the operational and financial performance of Piedmont Healthcare through the management of metric reporting, financial planning, performance monitoring, and analytics functions. Directs the development, review, and distribution of operational and financial performance scorecards, reports, and other analytical tools that support the organization's priorities. Oversees the financial analytics functions for the organization, including reporting, analysis, and financial planning functions. Translates business data into meaningful information and clearly communicates critical information to leadership and other stakeholders to improve performance and decision making. Conducts ongoing variance analysis and ensures alignment between the strategic goals of the organization and the financial forecasts. Provides consultative, technical, and decision-making support to facility and corporate management. Maintains strict confidentiality of all patient, provider, and company data.

Responsibilities

Responsible for facilitating the development, management and implementation of revenue cycle’s Reporting and Analytics program in partnership with the senior leadership team to achieve performance excellence. Advances the operational effectiveness and performance of Piedmont Healthcare’s revenue cycle through oversight and maintenance of the reporting and analytics related to Revenue Cycle. Includes data driven best practice, root cause analysis, and performance thru capabilities to measure, interpret, and report business outcome/process data, and third party reported data such as vendor/payer findings and trends. Ensures timely identification and disposition of negative process outcomes, translates data into meaningful information and clearly communicates critical information to leadership and other stakeholders to improve performance and decision making. Applies healthcare expertise, industry best-in-breed practices and knowledge of internal and external performance challenges to recommend improvements.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Data Management or a related field is required.

Work Experience

• Seven (7) years of progressively responsible revenue cycle experience involving performance/operations improvement, data analysis and reporting to include three (3) years management/leadership experience.

Additional Qualifications:

 

Master’s degree preferred. Proven understanding of revenue cycle operations and technology. Certification in Lean, Six Sigma or similar improvement methodologies strongly preferred. Superior written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present ideas in a clear and compelling manner to both executive and staff level audiences. Leadership in a multi-hospital and employed physician environment; previous experience using or implementing Epic is desired.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

1. Directs and prioritizes the activities related to Revenue Cycle wide reporting and analytics program.

 

2. Ensures the reporting and analytics program supports the effectiveness and continual improvement of revenue cycle operations – both physician and hospital.

 

3. Develop standardized root-cause-analysis process and tools that are designed to identify all of the factors that resulted in the nature, magnitude, location, and timing of adverse outcomes; determine what behaviors, actions, inactions, or conditions need to be changed; to facilitate the development of an action plan designed to prevent recurrences of similar negative outcomes; and identify lessons that may promote the achievement of better results.

 

4. Maintains key relationships with Piedmont Healthcare leadership and other stakeholders to proactively identify and communicate performance and continuous improvement opportunities.
