Salary Range:
$90,000 USD - $100,000 USDSpecific compensation will be based on candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, commercial considerations, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Job Description:
Role Summary
The Senior Analyst, Global Alternatives Operations is responsible for independently supporting the administration and operational oversight of private equity, private real estate, private debt, infrastructure and other alternative investment funds and accounts. The role handles complex and time-sensitive fund activities, applies sound judgment to resolve operational issues, and serves as an experienced resource to team members and stakeholders. Specific duties include capital call and distribution processing, cash monitoring, valuation and NAV support, performance and client reporting, audit and tax support, investment implementation, AML/KYC coordination, systems support, and oversight of fund accounting, expense and valuation processes with administrators and custodians. The Senior Analyst also supports process improvements, documentation and team knowledge-sharing, escalating material risks or exceptions as appropriate.
Your Core Responsibilities:
FUND OPERATIONS & TEAM SUPPORT
Independently coordinate complex, technical and time-sensitive deliverables across supported alternative funds and separate accounts.
Act as an experienced resource for day-to-day fund operations, providing guidance and daily support to less-tenured team members without formal people-management responsibility.
Apply sound judgment to research and resolve complex operational issues; clearly articulate decisions, risks and recommended actions, and escalate exceptions when needed.
Maintain current procedures and contribute to process enhancements, automation and other change initiatives.
FUND VALUATION & ACCOUNTING
Monitor the integrity of fund and separate-account valuations across systems, including expense and fee accruals.
Review estimate and final NAVs and supporting fund-accounting deliverables; interact regularly with fund administrators and underlying fund administrators to resolve questions and exceptions.
Support valuation data collection and reporting for private markets portfolios and assist with distribution and performance-fee calculations where applicable.
CLIENT & STAKEHOLDER SERVICE
Act as a primary day-to-day operations liaison with investment teams, administrators, custodians, client-facing teams, Legal and other internal partners.
Build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and respond to inquiries with professionalism, accuracy and urgency.
Coordinate handoffs and ensure issues requiring policy interpretation, client advice, or deviation from agreed procedures are escalated appropriately.
REPORTING, AUDIT, TAX & REGULATORY SUPPORT
Prepare, review and coordinate technical internal and external reports and support ad-hoc reporting requests.
Coordinate collection, tracking and distribution of investor tax and foreign-reporting information; support FATCA, Common Reporting Standard and audit-confirmation activities.
Assist with fund audits, auditor queries, financial-statement support and applicable regulatory or board reporting.
INVESTMENT IMPLEMENTATION
Coordinate new and follow-on commitments and other investment activity with portfolio managers, underlying managers and service providers.
Prepare and coordinate subscription and related documentation, gather and submit AML/KYC materials, and ensure complete and accurate setup in portfolio-management and reporting systems.
Identify documentation or setup issues and drive them to resolution with appropriate stakeholders.
CASH MONITORING & EXPENSE OVERSIGHT
Coordinate capital calls, distributions, subscriptions and redemptions at client and underlying-fund levels.
Prepare and/or review wire instructions, cash projections, reconciliations and unfunded-commitment data; support transaction approvals consistent with delegated authority.
Monitor fund expenses and invoice processing and ensure transactions are accurately reflected in relevant systems.
Your Expertise:
3-5 years of experience with fund accounting, valuations/NAVs, capital activity, cash management, fund expenses and operational controls.
Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline or equivalent relevant experience required.
Relevant investment management, accounting or financial-services certification preferred.
In-depth knowledge of alternative investment operations, preferably including private equity, private debt, private real estate and/or infrastructure.
Ability to work independently, prioritize competing deadlines, exercise good judgment and resolve complex problems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience working with internal clients, external managers, administrators and custodians.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and aptitude for using technology, automation and/or AI to improve business processing.
Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of industry methods and techniques and an experienced understanding of the specialized discipline.
Experience with fund formation/governing documents, AML/KYC, AIFM, FATCA/CRS and/or relevant EU/UK/US securities regulation preferred.
Working knowledge of GAAP and/or IFRS preferred.
