This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only. Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner.
Description of Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Follows procedures and SOPs established in Receiving Manual.
- Ensuring productivity by ensuring that all incoming packaging and ingredient trailers are unloaded in a timely manner.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the work stations.
- Assuring all safety measures are taken when team members unload trailers or perform a specific job.
- Assure all unloading reports are accurate and reflect what was actually received. Assist in unloading materials daily.
- Assures all equipment is in proper working order and notifies Supervisor of any equipment failure.
- Assist production by accurately stocking production lines.
- Assures FIFO Inventory Method is being performed throughout the receiving department.
- Accurately performs Daily and Weekly inventories including both packaging and ingredients.
- Assists Supervisor in Product Recall situations.
- Train new team members on all receiving reports and documents according to established procedures.
- Performs a complete departmental inspection upon arrival and departure daily.
- Communicate with oncoming lead in reference to what packaging materials and ingredients have arrived and their status.
- Notify a QA technician when unloading all minor ingredients and packaging. Must be able to perform the Receiving Lead Training checklist by the end of trial period.
- Must be able to perform the Receiving Forklift Operator Training checklist by the end of the trial period.
- All other duties assigned by the Supervisor. COMPLETED FORKLIFT LICENSE TRAINING REQUIRED.
- Must be able to drive and operate a forklift.
- Communicate with quality control department, purchasing department, production and supervisors on a regular basis.
- Be able to perform all jobs in receiving.
- Must be able to use a calculator to calculate daily / weekly inventories and usages.
- Must be able to record applicable data into the various unloading reports, inventory sheets, and incoming carrier inspection reports.
- Possess basic PC skills to include reading / sending emails and the operation of hand held scanners
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Team Member will flex wrist and hands.
- Team Member will walk, bend, and stand.
- Must me willing and able to lift 50lbs.
- Team will move heavy objects (250lbs) with a lift device
Training (Equipment & Methods)
Training of Lead responsibilities will be conducted by the designated Trainer in the Receiving department. Forklift Training and certification will be completed by the designated Trainer. Team members will be evaluated on job performance in accordance with the Training Program SOP ( PR 2.4 )
Job Safety Analysis
Personal Protective Equipment: smock, hair net, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, and safety glasses. Monthly training of a Safety topic and a GMP topic will be conducted by their immediate supervisor from information provided by the Safety Director and QA Manager.
