The range for this role is $136,000 - $171,000
Actual base pay will be determined based on a successful candidate's work location, skills/abilities, experience, and education.
Interested applicants must be willing and able to work onsite full time in either our Orlando, FL or Melbourne, FL office.

The Job
The Director, Compliance & Risk Management at Christian Care Ministry is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining programs that ensure organizational compliance and effective risk mitigation. This role identifies, assesses, and manages financial, operational, legal, and regulatory risks that could impact the organization’s performance or reputation. The Director, Compliance & Risk Management will collaborate with Human Resources, Internal Audit, Information Security, Finance, and Legal teams to provide guidance and training to minimize risk of non-compliance behavior; including the administration of internal compliance review processes and readiness for internal and external audits.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
Compliance Program Leadership
- Build and maintain programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including HIPAA, PHI, PCI, and PII
- Collaborate with department and organization leadership to develop compliance processes and continuous compliance improvement strategies
- Aid leadership in the creation and maintenance of compliance policies, procedures, and practices across all departments
- Ensure the company’s compliance program is well-documented and accessible to all employees
- Oversee budget and staffing of the compliance function; serving as a player-coach to lead high performing teams
Regulatory Monitoring and Reporting
- Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations, ensuring the company remains compliant with all regulatory requirements
- Provide consultation to leadership regarding legal or regulatory changes; including regular reporting to senior leadership
- Serve as organization’s Privacy Officer and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Contribute to strategic planning and budget development
Risk Assessment and Mitigation
- Develop and conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential areas of vulnerability in the company’s operations, including procurement and vendor management
- Implement corrective action plans to resolve compliance issues and mitigate risks across all functional areas
- Advise senior leadership on potential risks and recommend proactive measures to ensure ongoing compliance
- Partner with Legal and other business stakeholders to ensure Business Associate Agreements (BAA) and similar agreements are reviewed on a regular schedule, that they meet organizational standards, and that they are updated or remediated when gaps are identified
- Collaborate with Facilities, Human Resources, and Communications to ensure emergency management planning and response is effective and compliant
Training and Education
- Develop and deliver compliance training programs to educate employees on relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, including those related to procurement and vendor management
- Promote a culture of compliance and ethical behavior across the organization through ongoing communication and training initiatives
- Ensure employees are equipped with resources and tools for proper incident tracking, peer review, root cause analysis, and compliance reviews
Internal Investigations and Audits
- Conduct internal investigations into potential compliance violations or unethical conduct, at times taking the lead in said investigations and in others, partnering with appropriate departments (ex. Human Resources)
- Maintain HIPAA compliance audit
- Coordinate with internal audit teams to perform regular audits of compliance-related processes and procedures, including vendor contracts and procurement practices
- Recommend necessary changes based on audit findings and ensure continuous improvement of compliance practices
Collaboration and Advisory
- Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Human Resources, and Operations teams to ensure that compliance considerations are integrated into business decisions
- Serve as liaison between operational and administrative functions to resolve and advise on policies, procedures, and system requirements to ensure risk mitigation and compliance
- Maintain working knowledge of all compliance and risk management standards
- Contribute to the exercise and expression of Christian Care Ministry’s Christian beliefs
- All other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Public Health, Healthcare Administration OR a related field required; Juris Doctor (JD) or Master’s degree preferred
- 7+ years of experience in healthcare compliance, legal, or regulatory roles required; 3+ years within the financial services, banking, health insurance a plus
- Prior leadership experience in a related role required
- Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) OR Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) OR similar certification (e.g. CHPC) preferred
