THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE
Openbank is looking for a Product Manager based out of Madrid.
You will work with one cross-functional squad focused on improving a key part of the Openbank mobile app.
The wider team owns the overall app experience, with Product Managers leading different areas and customer journeys while working together to create a simple, connected and consistent experience across the app.
You will partner closely with Engineering, Design/UX, Data, Operations, Customer Growth, Customer Needs, and Risk, Legal and Compliance. You will also collaborate with other product teams, platform teams and international stakeholders across Openbank and Santander.
Your job is to understand the most important customer problems within your area, turn them into clear product opportunities, and drive the work from discovery → shipped product → measurable outcomes.
This is a hands-on product role focused on discovery, prioritization, delivery and continuous improvement. It is not an operations, service-delivery or project-coordination role.
We’re shaping the way we work through innovation, cutting-edge technology, collaboration and the freedom to explore new ideas. To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for:
- Own the roadmap and prioritisation for a product area or customer journey within the Openbank app.
- Work with Engineering, Design, Data and business partners to align the squad around clear customer and business outcomes.
- Define and track product metrics across activation, engagement, conversion, retention, self-service and customer satisfaction.
- Lead product discovery using customer feedback, UX research, product data and experimentation.
- Identify customer friction and opportunities to simplify complex banking journeys.
- Translate customer and business needs into clear hypotheses, MVPs, product requirements and success criteria.
- Prioritise based on customer value, business impact, regulation, technical feasibility and strategic alignment.
- Drive products and features through delivery, launch and optimisation, using evidence to improve or change direction.
- Collaborate with other Product Managers to ensure a consistent and connected experience across the app.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
Our people are our greatest strength. Every individual contributes unique perspectives that make us stronger as a team and as an organization. We’re enabling teams to go beyond by valuing who they are and empowering what they bring.
The following requirements represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities essential for success in this role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Professional Experience
- +4-6 years in product management, owning consumer app experiences end-to-end – from discovery and prioritization through launch, optimisation and measurable outcomes.
- Experience working with a cross-functional squad in a complex, product-led organisation.
- Strong product sense and a track record of building simple, intuitive mobile-first customer experiences.
- Experience taking ambiguous customer problems from idea → shipped product → measurable outcomes.
- Experience in banking, fintech, financial services or another regulated digital environment (preferred).
Language
- Fluent in English (Required)
Hard Skills
- Data-informed mindset; comfortable with funnels, instrumentation, experimentation and product KPIs.
- Strong discovery and prioritisation skills, using customer evidence, product data and business impact to make decisions
