  • Manage shipping and receiving activities, including delivery coordination, unloading, verification of packing slips and purchase orders, discrepancy resolution, and documentation of damaged or missing materials.
  • Maintain accurate, real-time inventory records for materials and equipment and ensure material status is consistently updated in company systems, spreadsheets, and project tracking tools.

  • Track material from order and shipment through receipt, staging, issuance, and installation; proactively identify shortages, delays, missing items, or other risks that could impact the project schedule.
  • Manage delivery schedules, site logistics, laydown areas, storage locations, and material distribution to ensure safe and efficient movement of materials across the project site.
  • Use spreadsheets and company systems to enter, organize, track, and report material quantities, locations, delivery status, inventory levels, and installation progress.
  • Provide regular updates to project leadership regarding inventory status, upcoming deliveries, material shortages, logistics constraints, and potential schedule impacts.
  • Communicate with suppliers and vendors to resolve shipping, receiving, quality, quantity, and documentation discrepancies.
  • Ensure materials are properly identified and stored and comply with project specifications, quality requirements, safety regulations, and applicable industry standards.
  • Establish clear processes, expectations, and accountability for the material team while maintaining a highly organized and efficient material operation.
  • Adhere to company policies, OSHA regulations, and site-specific safety protocols.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in material management, logistics, warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, inventory control, or a related role; construction material management experience strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience leading and managing a material, logistics, warehouse, or inventory team; experience supervising Material Coordinators and/or Material Expediters preferred.
  • Experience supporting large-scale construction projects and managing high volumes of materials, deliveries, inventory, and field distribution preferred.
  • Strong logistics, shipping and receiving, inventory management, and material tracking experience.
  • Advanced organizational skills with the ability to establish processes, maintain accurate records, manage multiple priorities, and keep a fast-paced material operation organized.
  • Strong computer literacy and ability to quickly learn and consistently use company systems and digital tracking tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and spreadsheets, including entering, organizing, maintaining, and tracking material and inventory data.
