Description

Lyten is leading an industrial revolution through Lyten 3D Graphene™, a breakthrough supermaterial unlocking a new generation of products — from lithium–sulfur batteries and energy storage systems to concrete admixtures, lightweight composites, and next-generation sensors that are revolutionizing industries. Together, these innovations are making a massive global improvement and driving real-world impact across energy, mobility, construction, and defense.

At Lyten, we believe the most meaningful careers begin with purpose — and with people who want to make a difference. We’re not just developing advanced supermaterials — we’re about to change the world as we know it, reshaping how energy is stored, how products are built, and how progress is made.

We’re entering an exciting growth phase, scaling production across the U.S. and Europe and expanding our team of engineers, scientists, and innovators.

Apply now to join our team and be part of something bigger than yourself — where collaboration, creativity, and purpose come together to build the technologies that will define the next century.

As a Customer Quality Engineer, you are the voice of the customer inside Lyten and the voice of Lyten to the customer when it comes to product quality. You ensure that our battery energy storage systems meet the highest quality standards and exceed customer expectations, acting as the primary point of contact for quality concerns raised by our end customers. You collaborate closely with Production, R&D, Manufacturing Engineering, and Supplier Quality to investigate issues, drive root cause resolution, and feed customer insights back into our factory systems and processes for continuous improvement — building the customer-facing quality function as Lyten scales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acting as the primary point of contact for customer-reported quality concerns and issues, owning the relationship through to resolution.
  • Building and continuously improving Lyten's customer quality processes and documentation from the ground up, establishing the foundation for a scalable customer quality function as the organization grows
  • Investigating and resolving customer complaints and quality issues in a timely manner, keeping the customer informed throughout the process.
  • Conducting root cause analysis and driving the implementation of corrective
and preventive actions, verifying their effectiveness before closing out customer issues.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams (Production, R&D, Manufacturing Engineering, and Supplier Quality) to develop and implement quality control processes that prevent recurrence.
  • Monitoring and reporting on customer quality performance metrics (e.g. complaint rates, response times, recurrence rates) to the Quality Management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Participating in customer audits and quality reviews, representing Lyten's quality standards and practices.
  • Developing and maintaining quality documentation relevant to customer quality, including inspection plans, test procedures, and quality reports.
  • Providing training and support to internal teams on quality standards, customer expectations, and best practices for issue resolution.
  • Feeding customer insights and field data back into internal processes, driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Leading formal 8D problem-solving and reporting for customer complaints, ensuring root cause, containment, and corrective actions are documented and communicated to the customer within agreed timelines.

Accountability/Authorization

  • Budget responsibility: No
  • Direct reports: No
  • Authorized to contact and correspond directly with customers on quality matters
  • Authorized to represent Lyten during customer audits and quality reviews
  • Authorized to lead and close out formal 8D investigations on behalf of the company
  • Authorized to initiate corrective and preventive actions across relevant departments
    in response to customer-reported issues
  • Authorized to report any quality, health, safety, or environmental nonconformities, ideas, risks, and opportunities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field
  • 3+ years of experience in a quality engineering role, preferably in a customer-facing capacity, within a high-growth manufacturing environment
  • Battery, automotive, or other regulated high-tech manufacturing industry experience is an advantage
  • Experience in a start-up, scale-up, or fast-changing manufacturing environment, comfortable building or improving customer quality processes rather than only following mature, fully-defined ones (strong advantage)
  • Experience working effectively in a multi-cultural environment with cross-functional teams (Production, R&D, Manufacturing Engineering, and Supplier Quality)
  • Exceptional ability to manage multiple customer quality cases simultaneously while maintaining high attention to detail
  • Certification in quality management (e.g. Six Sigma, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor) is an advantage

Specific skills

  • Proficiency in formal problem-solving methodologies, particularly 8D, and structured root cause analysis
  • Practical knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, and root cause tools (8D, 5 Why) within a manufacturing context
  • Working knowledge of automotive-standard quality tools (e.g. Control Plan, SPC, APQP) is an advantage
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 systems
  • Comfortable working with quality management, CAPA/8D tracking, and statistical analysis tools (e.g. Minitab, JMP, or equivalent); experience with dedicated QMS software (e.g. ETQ, MasterControl, TrackWise) is an advantage
  • Ability to use statistical methods to monitor, improve product quality
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable engaging directly
with customers on sensitive quality matters
  • Fluent English (C1/C2), enabling effective collaboration with international customers and teams; fluent Polish is an advantage for internal communication

Personal success factors

  • Highly organized and result-driven
  • Has a can-do attitude and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Passionate & purpose-driven
  • Ability to work under high pressure and tight deadlines, excellent time management
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as independently
  • Capability to work independently, able to take initiative, prioritize tasks, and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Ability to work in a high-profile international environment
  • Qualities we cherish- flexibility, sense of quality, friendliness, motivation to take on new challenges, grit, and a sense of humor
  • Growth mindset — genuinely curious, eager to learn, and open to continuously developing new skills and ways of working
