The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Washington invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Teaching Associate, with an anticipated start date of January 1, 2027. We seek applicants who demonstrate commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service. The successful candidate will join our faculty on a full-time basis for a twelve-month appointment renewed annually.

The base salary range for this position will be: $11,500 - $14,167 per month ($138,000 - $170,000 annually) with competitive total compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Position Responsibilities

The OBGYN Generalist Division has an outstanding opportunity at the level of Teaching Associate for a full scope outpatient OBGYN Advanced Practice Provider. This is a full-time, 12-month (July 1 - June 30) academic position with annual reappointment. An ARNP/PA-C is a certified physician assistant or advanced registered nurse practitioner who provides evaluation and medical management to OBGYN patients. The successful candidate would have experience providing comprehensive prenatal and postpartum care, including first trimester ultrasound, and outpatient gynecologic health care including preventative health maintenance visits, office visits for common gynecologic conditions, and contraception. Clinical teaching experience and experience collaborating with the clinical team is valued. This teaching associate would work with our generalist faculty to provide full-scope ARNP/PA clinical services for obstetrics & gynecologic clinics.

Successful candidates will have demonstrated excellence working in an interdisciplinary, collaborative team environment, as well as strong interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and clinical expertise in patient care.

This opportunity will be predominantly at the UW Medicine Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic in Ballard and may occasionally include support at other UWMC Northwest Clinics as needed. UWMC Northwest Ob/Gyn encompasses three clinics in North Seattle at Ballard, Shoreline, and UWMC Northwest. The successful candidate will support urgent and return visits for gynecological and obstetric visits, and a candidate with prior experience in providing OBGYN care is highly desired due to the complexity of the patients.

As a regional leader, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology clinics at the University of Washington offer comprehensive obstetrics and gynecologic care. We care for pregnant patients from the region who choose the University of Washington Medical Center Northwest Campus for their delivery. UW Medical Center - Northwest is a full-service, non-profit hospital, with 381 beds, on a patient-friendly, easy-access campus in north Seattle. Our campus has the size and character of a smaller community hospital, but as part of the University of Washington Medical Center, the top-rated hospital in Washington State, we have access to all the resources of a leading academic medical center.

This position is not eligible for visa or permanent residence sponsorship.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology was established in 1948 and cares for some of the most vulnerable citizens of the WWAMI (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho) region through our reputation for excellent patient care, education, and research. Our 100+ clinical and research faculty, 40 medical trainees, and 60+ staff invite you to discover what makes us the No. 1 Gynecology specialty program in Washington State and the five-state WWAMI region. As the premier teaching hospital in the WWAMI region, we prioritize educational opportunities using cutting-edge technology, research, and evidence.

As a top tier medical school, the University of Washington is recognized for excellence in clinical training, world-class research initiatives, and an enduring commitment to community service throughout the WWAMI region. Our faculty enjoy the academic benefits of working in one of the country’s premiere academic health centers. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is directly responsible for multiple large and ongoing educational endeavors including a large, multi-site residency program and five subspecialty fellowships.

Our multidisciplinary and patient-centered approach allows us to provide exceptional care for both routine and highly complex medical problems. Our department has 11 separate clinical sections and a research division, all led by nationally regarded clinicians and scientists.

All University of Washington faculty may be asked to engage in teaching, research, and service. Candidates will be expected to provide medical services at the University of Washington affiliated hospitals, train residents and medical students, and make academic contributions to the field. We seek applicants who demonstrate commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service in a diverse and inclusive community.
