Project Manager - Reconstruction
Location: Redlands, CA
Position Summary
The Project Manager – Reconstruction is responsible for the full lifecycle of insurance-driven rebuild projects following mitigation. This role manages scope, budget, schedule, subcontractors, and customer communication to deliver quality work on time and profitably, while maintaining strong relationships with homeowners, adjusters, and carrier partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of reconstruction projects from scope and estimate through completion and final invoicing
- Prepare and review detailed estimates in Xactimate; negotiate scope and supplements with insurance adjusters
- Develop project schedules and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and in-house crews
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor quality, safety, progress, and code compliance
- Serve as the primary point of contact for property owners, keeping them informed and managing expectations
- Track job costs, change orders, and budgets to protect project margins
- Obtain permits and coordinate inspections as required
- Maintain accurate documentation, photos, and job notes in project management software
- Ensure compliance with company standards, OSHA, and local building codes
- Collaborate with mitigation, estimating, and administrative teams for seamless handoffs
- Drive collections and project closeout, including certificates of completion
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of project management experience in restoration reconstruction, insurance repair, or residential/light commercial construction
- Proficiency in Xactimate required; experience with DASH, Encircle, or similar platforms a plus
- Strong understanding of construction methods, trades sequencing, and building codes
- Experience working with insurance carriers, TPAs, and adjusters
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills
- Valid California driver's license and clean driving record
- IICRC certifications, OSHA 10/30, or a California contractor's license (B) are a plus
