Description
EA Talent Solutions is partnering with a reputable NYC law firm — a boutique real estate practice based in lower Manhattan — to find a Commercial Real Estate Paralegal (Lender-Side). This role sits within a collaborative, close-knit team handling sophisticated real estate finance and transactional work, where paralegals take real ownership of complex, high-value matters and manage loan transactions from inception through closing.
Responsibilities
- Support attorneys on lender-side commercial real estate financings, including mortgage loans, construction loans, bridge loans, and other permanent financing transactions
- Prepare, organize, and track loan documentation packages, including mortgage documents, assignments, and UCC financing statements
- Conduct and manage title and survey review; identify encumbrances, exceptions, and defects and escalate as appropriate
- Organize, review, and analyze legal due diligence received in connection with loan transactions
- Prepare and file UCC financing statements, mortgage recordings, and related instruments in New York and other jurisdictions
- Coordinate entity formation documentation, organizational document review, and good standing certifications for borrower and guarantor entities
- Coordinate with borrower's counsel, title companies, surveyors, and other transaction parties to manage due diligence and closing deliverables
- Facilitate pre-closing checklists, ensure closing conditions are satisfied prior to funding, and track and remediate post-closing items
- Maintain accurate electronic deal files, closing binders, and post-closing deliverable packages
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 4+ years of paralegal experience at a law firm representing commercial real estate lenders
- Hands-on experience with commercial real estate finance and demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume deal pipeline independently with minimal oversight
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional, polished demeanor
- Strong client service mindset, comfortable managing relationships with sophisticated institutional clients and high-net-worth individuals
- Highly responsive, organized, and detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work overtime as needed to support closing timelines
- New York State Notary Public License (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Preferred Skills
- Prior exposure to commercial loan documentation, UCC filings, or multi-jurisdictional real estate transactions
- Familiarity with construction loan transactions, mezzanine structures, or portfolio financing
- Experience with Airtable or similar matter and pipeline tracking platforms
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience: $100,000 - $130,000
