Tax Specialist

Love tax work—but not necessarily the corporate ladder?

A growing Fresno CPA firm is looking for an experienced Tax Specialist who enjoys the actual work of preparing returns, solving tax issues, and helping clients.

This is a great opportunity for someone who has solid tax preparation experience and wants a stable, hands-on role with a supportive team and a variety of clients. You don't need to be a CPA, and you don't need to be pursuing a partner track. What matters most is that you know tax preparation, care about accuracy, and enjoy doing good work for clients.

What You'll Do

You'll prepare a variety of federal and California tax returns for individuals and small businesses, including:

• 1040s with Schedules A, C, D and E
• 1120 and 1120-S corporate returns
• 1065 partnership returns
• W-2s, 1099s and other information returns
• Review and organize client financial information
• Reconcile income, expenses and supporting documentation
• Communicate with clients when additional information or clarification is needed
• Stay current on tax changes affecting common individual and business filings

What We're Looking For

We're more interested in your tax preparation experience and ability than your title.

You may be a good fit if you have:

• Experience preparing individual and small-business tax returns
• Working knowledge of federal and California tax requirements
• Previous CPA firm, accounting firm or tax preparation experience
• Strong attention to detail
• The ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• A professional, approachable communication style

CPA license not required.
