Tax Specialist

Reporting to the Supervisor or Manager in Tax Operations, the incumbent of the position is primarily responsible for handling transactions with various levels of complexity.

Position Responsibilities:

• Review and process received transactions accurately and in a timely manner. This includes but not limited to federal/provincial remittances, financial/non-financial policy changes, tax calculations, investigating discrepancies.
• Respond to general tax inquiries from clients, advisors, and internal stakeholders.
• Process year-end production tax slips timely and accurately,
• Provide excellent service to internal and external clients, whether emails, phone calls or correspondence. Respond to inquiries received from internal and external clients, after appropriate research and analysis. To do this, find the best way to solve the problem and accurately process the necessary operations.
• Required to meet daily service level agreements and high accuracy results.
• Collaborates with teams located in various offices to achieve dynamic volumes and meet service standards.
• Demonstrates a positive attitude in finding solutions to problems.
• Contribute to the optimization of service efficiency by suggesting process improvements.
• Collaborates effectively with the other departments within Policy Services

Required Qualifications:

• College diploma or relevant work experience
• Ability to work independently, with minimal direct supervision
• Demonstrate decision-making skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Any knowledge of investment products is an asset
• Any knowledge in navigating Mainframe systems is an asset
• Proficient in Excel, with an ability to learn new software/system applications quickly
