Role summary:
The Senior Manager, Fire Safety & Compliance, leads the development and execution of fire safety & compliance strategies within their area of responsibility. This role supports fire safety and compliance programs for the world’s largest retailer. This role helps reduce fire and property risk across retail and/or supply chain facilities by partnering with business and technical teams to evaluate risk, develop controls, and implement continuous improvement programs for fire and life safety needs. The role also includes mentoring associates, fostering a culture of integrity, and collaborating cross-functionally to support continuous improvement and operational excellence aligned with company values.
About the team:
Walmart’s Fire Safety & Compliance team is committed to protecting associates, customers, facilities, and operations by ensuring compliance with fire codes and life safety standards enterprise-wide. The team partners with facility operations, real estate, maintenance, asset protection, compliance, and regulatory authorities to identify risks, support inspections, address deficiencies, and promote safe environments. This group plays a critical role in maintaining regulatory compliance and mitigating risks, contributing to Walmart’s dedication to safety and operational excellence through effective communication and strategic collaboration.
What you'll do:

• Serve as a technical SME for fire protection engineering, property risk, fire safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Apply NFPA codes, FM Data Sheets, building and fire codes, and -specific standards to complex facility and operational risks.
• Partner with various teams to develop practical fire protection solutions.
• Review fire protection designs and engineering analyses for compliance and alignment with Walmart risk objectives.
• Evaluate risks associated with storage, ASRS, robotics,  energy systems, and other emerging technologies.
• Lead large-scale fire testing and translate test results, research, and loss experience into  design standards, technical guidance, and operational requirements.
• Support facility teams in resolving fire protection deficiencies and system impairments.

What you'll bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in fire protection engineering or a related  discipline with experience in fire protection engineering, property risk, loss prevention, insurance, construction, or risk management.
• Knowledge of NFPA & IFC codes and standards related to sprinkler systems, storage, water supplies, fire alarms, special hazards, and system maintenance.
• Knowledge of FM Property Loss Prevention Data Sheets and their application to retail, distribution, industrial, and automated facilities.
• Strong understanding of fire protection system reliability, impairment management, inspection, testing, and maintenance.
• Risk-management mindset that balances life safety, property protection, business continuity, compliance, operations, and costs.
• Professional Engineer license or relevant fire protection or property risk credentials preferred.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
