Job Summary
Courtesy Patrol Officer inspects areas for the presence of unauthorized persons or potential sources of crime, and maintains clear, appropriate and continuous radio contact with base, shift supervisor and others. Maintains general order of the local environment and intervenes in disturbances in a calm and efficient manner guided by courtesy, established rules and regulations. Responds to various public service calls, hospital violations or customer service-oriented requests such as escorting patients, visitors, medical staff, and employees to parking areas.
Essential Functions
- Prevent security and safety incidents/accidents through the conduct of patrols, inspections, and investigations; respond to the security and safety needs of all staff, patients, and visitors
- Patrol and check all buildings and parking areas for lost or suspicious persons
- Check building doors after hours, ensuring that doors are locked, and building is secure
- Check out-patient areas around-the-clock
- Check employees that are working late-control, parking assistance, and provide security escorts to all parking areas
- Promptly respond to emergency code conditions and security alarms
- Observe for and report fire and safety hazards when on patrol
- Work assigned shift and others when called upon
- Complete a daily Activity Log of all occurrences during tour of duty and all other shift paperwork (i.e., Incident Reports, inspections, etc.)
- Effectively work with staff, peers, Director, and Supervisors to ensure a harmonious relationship is maintained
- Organize work to maximize efficiency and to complete work on time
- Perform productive activities consistently during work schedule

Experience:
- Previous work experience with the public in a service setting
Education
- High School Diploma/GED equivalent
Licensure/Certifications:
- State of Texas Licensure Level 2
