Project Info
HumeLink East forms part of one of Australia's largest energy infrastructure projects. ACCIONA, in joint venture with Genus, will design and construct 230km of new 500kV double circuit transmission line and expand the existing Bannaby 500kV substation. The line connects Bannaby to the Wondalga interface point with HumeLink West. The project strengthens the national grid and supports the shift to renewable energy.
About Opportunity
As Safety Advisor, you will support the HumeLink East project team to implement and monitor safety systems across site operations. Reporting to the Senior Safety Advisor, you will work closely with supervisors, engineers and subcontractors to ensure compliance with WHS legislation and ACCIONA standards. You will play a hands-on role in building a proactive safety culture and driving continuous improvement across a large-scale linear infrastructure project.
Key accountabilities for the position will be:
Implement site safety systems and monitor compliance
Conduct safety inspections, audits and site walks
Investigate incidents and identify corrective actions
Coach supervisors and subcontractors on safe work practices
Review and update risk assessments and work method statements
Deliver inductions, toolbox talks and safety training
Report safety performance and trends to project leadership
Required Skills and Competencies
Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent)
Experience in a similar safety advisory role
Sound understanding of WHS legislative frameworks
Incident investigation experience (ICAM or similar)
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
