What You'll Do
- Prepare Australian tax returns, financial statements, BAS, and IAS for a diverse portfolio of clients.
- Assist with franking accounts, rental schedules, capital gains tax calculations, and other compliance activities.
- Prepare financial statements to a high standard for senior review with minimal rework.
- Work with group structures to accurately prepare accounting and taxation deliverables.
- Reconcile accounting records and maintain accurate financial data across client ledgers.
- Identify missing information, resolve queries proactively, and keep stakeholders informed throughout each engagement.
- Prepare compliance workpapers, supporting schedules, and documentation following firm standards.
- Collaborate with Australian colleagues to deliver high-quality work while meeting deadlines and budgets.
Key Criteria
- Up to 2 years of experience working with an Australian accounting firm.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or an equivalent professional accounting qualification (or currently working towards one).
- Experience preparing Australian tax returns, financial statements, BAS, and IAS.
- Good working knowledge of Xero and MYOB accounting software.
- Understanding of Australian taxation principles, depreciation rules, company tax, and general accounting concepts.
- Experience with ATO Portal Tax Accounts, reconciliations, and compliance workpapers is advantageous.
- Exposure to Self-Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSF) and BGL360 is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent written communication skills with a proactive, trustworthy, and accountable approach.
Work Setup
Ho Chi Minh City (Ree Tower): Vietnam business hours (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) with a hybrid setup of 1 day working from home.
