Job Title:
Maintenance Planner
Job Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to maintain engineering spares stock levels, issue stock, process quotations and purchase requisitions, manage planned preventative maintenance schedules, capture job cards, and follow up on orders. The role also ensures that up-to-date Engineering KPI information is communicated electronically and displayed on visual boards.
Responsibilities:
- Create, maintain, and track planned preventative maintenance (PPM) systems and schedules
- Print and schedule PPM job cards to ensure maintenance schedules remain up to date
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures
- Work closely with artisans to ensure lean manufacturing principles are followed
- Ensure all job cards are closed on the system upon completion of work
- Keep planned preventative maintenance schedules updated and accurate
- Maintain high housekeeping standards across all working areas
- Perform additional duties as reasonably required
- Conduct monthly safety audits
- Ensure maintenance team safety audit reports are current and up to date
- Ensure compliance with group and local safety standards, policies, and procedures
- Report all incidents and near misses promptly
- Maintain a high level of quality and accuracy in all tasks
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail
Qualifications and Skills:
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science, or equivalent qualification
- Engineering qualification or trade certification
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Good planning and organisational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Problem-solving ability and self-motivated attitude
- Strong prioritisation and time management skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Ability to complete tasks effectively and accurately
- Computer literate, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Syspro
- Knowledge of ISO quality and environmental systems and techniques (ISO 9001 and ISO 14001)
- Exposure to a manufacturing environment.
