Description
The Sales Support Specialist provides operational, administrative, and business development support to Schebler's outside sales team while serving as a key link between inside and outside sales. This role is responsible for coordinating sales support activities, assisting with estimating and quoting, identifying new project opportunities, and improving the organization and accuracy of sales data and processes. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while helping improve responsiveness, efficiency, and sales performance.
This position reports to the Marketing Manager. This position works closely with the outside sales team, Inside Sales – Project Estimators, Engineering, Customer Service, and other internal departments to support business development initiatives and sales operations.
Key Performance Expectations:
- Improve responsiveness and turnaround time for customer quotations by supporting estimating and quote coordination activities.
- Identify and communicate qualified project opportunities to support outside sales and business development efforts.
- Maintain accurate, organized, and actionable sales data, documentation, and customer information.
- Improve operational efficiency through continuous evaluation and enhancement of sales support processes.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration between inside sales, outside sales, and cross-functional teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support to the outside sales team.
- Assist with quoting and estimating activities to improve turnaround time and provide backup support for the estimating function.
- Review Dodge Construction reports and other lead sources to identify new project opportunities, requests for quotations (RFQs), and business development prospects.
- Research construction projects and distribute qualified opportunities to the appropriate sales representatives.
- Maintain and organize sales data, customer records, project information, and documentation to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
- Coordinate communication between inside sales, outside sales, customers, and internal departments to facilitate efficient project execution.
- Monitor quote activity and assist with tracking opportunities throughout the sales process.
- Support CRM and sales database maintenance, ensuring accurate customer and project information.
- Assist with reporting, sales analytics, and business development initiatives to support strategic decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to improve sales processes, documentation, and workflow efficiencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:

Education: |
Associate's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Operations, or a related field preferred. |
|
Experience: |
2-4 years of experience in sales support, customer service, project coordination, estimating, manufacturing support, or related business operations required. Experience in manufacturing, construction, or industrial sales environments preferred.

- Experience working with estimating, quoting, or project tracking systems preferred.
- Strong data management and reporting skills.
Other Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit; use hands, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, talk, or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee is occasionally exposed to a moderate noise level.
