Senior Accountant – Audit & Assurance
A growing Seattle CPA firm is looking for someone with public accounting experience to join its team. This is a client-facing role offering exposure to a variety of accounting and financial statement engagements, with opportunities to work closely with experienced CPAs and firm leadership.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and assist with financial statement engagements for a variety of clients.
- Work on compilations and review engagements from start to finish.
- Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP.
- Assist with audit engagements as needed.
- Communicate directly with clients to gather information and resolve accounting questions.
- Prepare and review workpapers and engagement documentation.
- Research accounting issues and assist with financial reporting matters.
- Work closely with Managers and Partners on client engagements.
- Assist with reviewing work prepared by Staff Accountants.
- Help identify opportunities to improve client processes and accounting procedures.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of public accounting experience.
- Experience with financial statement preparation.
- Experience performing reviews and/or compilations.
- Strong understanding of GAAP.
- Experience working directly with clients.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- CPA or CPA eligibility preferred, but not required.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple client engagements and meet deadlines.
Ideal Background
The ideal candidate will come from a public accounting/CPA firm environment and have experience beyond traditional bookkeeping or tax work.
Someone who has worked on a combination of reviews, compilations, audits, and financial statement preparation would be a particularly strong fit.
