Description
This position is an on-site position based out of Virginia Beach, VA.
The position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an active DOD security clearance.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Conduct obsolescence assessments for SSDS MK2 equipment as part of the SSDS COTS Working Groups (SCWG)
- Prepare and maintain meeting agendas, action item trackers, and minutes
- Develop engineering documentation including Ship Change Documents (SCDs), Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), and Problem Reports (PRs)
- Participate in engineering reviews and assist in developing documentation required for COTS component procurement
- Provide technical support for sustainment engineering solutions
- Validate and certify hardware repair effectiveness
- Support material acquisition activities for COTS/DMSMS cases
- Recommend solutions for COTS and DMSMS issues contributing to long-term system sustainment
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Ten (10) years of full-time, hands-on professional experience in installation, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or testing major systems or equipment
- Experience substitutions:
– Bachelor’s degree: 6 years experience required
– Associate’s degree: 8 years experience required - Experience with FROST or other government databases
- Knowledge of DMSMS processes and obsolescence research
- Proficient in configuration management practices
- Strong understanding of SSDS hardware/software to identify DMSMS solutions, including component-level and higher-level redesign scenarios
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
