Atlantic Federal Credit Union is seeking an experienced and results-driven Vice President of Residential Lending to lead our residential mortgage business and develop a high-performing team.

This leadership role is responsible for driving production, profitability, market growth, and exceptional member experiences while ensuring operational excellence across all residential lending activities.

As Atlantic's residential lending expert, you'll partner closely with our Chief Lending Officer to shape strategy, strengthen referral partnerships, and advance the credit union's residential lending objectives. What You'll Do
 

Drive Residential Lending Growth

• Develop and execute residential lending strategies that support production, revenue, profitability, market share, and funded loan growth objectives.
• Expand purchase mortgage volume and referral-based business through strategic partnerships, community engagement, and relationship-building efforts.
• Build and strengthen relationships with realtors, builders, financial professionals, employers, and community organizations to enhance Atlantic's market presence and lending opportunities.
• Monitor market conditions, competitive trends, pipeline performance, and key lending metrics to identify opportunities for growth and improved results.
• Champion lending products, pricing strategies, and sales practices that enhance profitability, competitiveness, and member outcomes.

 Lead and Develop High-Performing Teams

• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of residential lending professionals to achieve individual and organizational goals.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and exceptional member service.
• Establish clear performance expectations and use data-driven coaching to improve productivity, engagement, and results.
• Lead hiring, performance management, talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement efforts that strengthen organizational capability and build future leaders.

 Provide Operational, Financial, and Regulatory Leadership

• Champion a seamless mortgage experience from application through closing while maintaining a strong focus on member service.
• Manage departmental budgets, financial performance, forecasts, and lending metrics to support organizational objectives.
• Partner across the organization to improve efficiency, loan quality, reporting capabilities, and operational effectiveness, including the implementation of technology and process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, investor requirements, and credit union policies while maintaining strong risk management, quality control, and audit-readiness practices.
• Balance growth objectives with sound lending practices and operational excellence.

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive residential mortgage lending leadership experience.
• Demonstrated success growing mortgage production, leading sales-focused teams, and driving business development results.
• Strong knowledge of residential lending operations, secondary market practices, regulatory requirements, and market dynamics.
• Proven ability to coach, develop, and influence high-performing teams.
• Exceptional relationship-building, communication, and executive presentation skills.
• A strategic, data-driven approach to decision-making and continuous improvement.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and industry credentials.
• Active NMLS registration.
