Purpose and Scope
The HR Talent Specialist provides administrative and operational support to the CNC Manager and Staffing Advisors throughout the staffing and onboarding process. The role assists with candidate communication and pre- and post-employment administrative support. The Specialist also monitors assigned staffing activities, provides timely follow-up, and helps ensure processes and documentation are completed accurately and efficiently.
Essential Job Functions
1. Collaborate with hiring managers to ensure all Central Nutrition vacancies are effectively and efficiently filled with high-quality staff according to industry standard turnaround times.
A. Assists Staffing Advisors with candidate referrals for hiring managers and maintains accurate records of referrals, candidate status, and follow-up activities.
B. Supports Staffing Advisors by collecting, maintaining, and organizing staffing data; tracking progress toward established staffing goals; and preparing reports or updates for review by the CNC HR Manager.
C. Monitors position approval, posting, selection, and onboarding timelines for vacancies assigned to the Staffing Advisor and follows up on outstanding items to support timely completion of the staffing process.
D. Provides operational and administrative support to Staffing Advisors during key staffing processes, including the voluntary transfer period and hiring events.
E. Assists Staffing Advisors with onboarding activities by tracking required documentation, monitoring completion of onboarding requirements, communicating next steps to candidates.
2. Provides day-to-day support to prospective and current employees regarding employment-related inquiries and concerns
A. Assists by answering routine candidate and employee questions, providing status updates, and referring complex matters to the appropriate Staffing Advisor or HR team.
B. Supports the department in maintaining efficient service within assigned areas by monitoring routine processes, identifying service or workflow concerns, and providing feedback or recommendations for consideration.
3. Collaborate with the HR Manager and Staffing Advisors to support departmental activities and related HR functions.
4. Participates in the recruitment and placement of staff through job fairs, hiring events, and other recruitment activities; collaborates with the HR team to provide feedback on candidate pool quality; and supports MSCS brand initiatives by positively representing the District and promoting MSCS as an employer of choice.
5. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or closely related field; PLUS two (2) years related experience in related field; OR an equivalent combination or related education and experience totaling six (6) years. (PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED)
Degree Equivalency Formula:
Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.
Master’s Degree=6 years plus required years of experience.
