Overview

The Department of Technology, Design, and Technical Education (TDTE) at Utah State University (USU) seeks a full-time Educational Specialist (Program Coordinator II or III) the level will depend on qualifications, experience, and duties assigned (see qualification section). This position is for the Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs for the USU Southeast region. This role supports the growth and administration of CTE programs, including health professions, and involves building industry partnerships, collaborating with government and non-government agencies, coordinating recruitment and marketing, and developing educational resources.

 

The specialist will focus on cultivating relationships with industry, government, and enhance marketing for the CTE program offerings and help coordinate student internships. This full-time staff role requires both administrative and educational expertise to deliver quality support for CTE programs.This position is based on the USU Eastern Campus in Price, Utah. Application reviews begin in August 2026, continuing until the position is filled.

 

The anticipated start date is October 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and maintain partnerships with industry, government, and state agencies to enhance program relevance and expand student opportunities.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with external agencies and provide regular student progress reports as required.
  • Develop and coordinate student internships in collaboration with industry partners; serve as the instructor of record for internship courses.
  • Coordinate and support recruitment and marketing efforts for all CTE programs in the USU Southeast region.
  • Develop, update, and coordinate efforts of promotional materials, including program descriptions, flyers, brochures, and online content.
  • Enhance CTE program value by seeking external funding opportunities, forming new industry partnerships, and creating student experiential learning opportunities.
  • Participate in program compliance and accreditation activities, tracking and reporting student progression and outcomes to ensure program integrity.
  • Research and develop educational resources based on best practices; evaluate their impact through analytics and feedback.
  • Teach non-credit workshops or training sessions within your area of expertise, as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • This positin will be hired as either a Program Coordinator II or III based upon qualifications and duties assigned:
  • For a Program Coordinator II: Bachelor's degree in a related field plus two years of relevant work experience; or a master's deegree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education plus experience is required. 
  • For a Program Coordinator III: Bachelor's degree in a related field plus two years of relevant work experience; or a master's degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of edcuation plus experience is required. 
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing, as some duties may require driving university vehicles and transporting materials.
  • Proven written and oral communication, interpersonal, organizational, presentation, and team-building skills.
  • Proficiency in business productivity software (spreadsheets, word processing, presentations, scheduling, etc.).

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in secondary or higher education.
  • Marketing experience.
  • Experience with industry collaboration and/or partnership development.
  • Experience developing proposals, programs, and/or curriculum.

    The Department of Technology, Design and Technical Education (TDTE) provides instruction to students seeking a technical certificate, or an associate or baccalaureate degree. These innovative degree programs allow students to gain expertise in the fields such as business, cosmetology, health professions, machinery, manufacturing, product development, protective services, transportation, and technology.
