Role Description
The successful individual will support the Designated Person (DP) for Operational Risk Management/Head of Risk in carrying out effective risk oversight of all funds managed by MSIM FMIL.
This will include the following:
Secondary point of contact regarding operational risk matters including incident management
Production of regular and ad hoc operational risk reporting including board level materials
Assist in managing risk identification for the entity inclusive of risks captured through the Non-Financial Risk Assessment (NFRA)
Manage elements of other risk programs as required
Support the DP in managing the risk framework through oversight of risk policies and procedures
Assist in assessment of outsourced service providers and evidencing of oversight
Support strategic and tactical initiatives to improve the risk function’s capabilities
Perform other activities as delegated by the Designated Person.
Skills /Experience required
Experience in a risk discipline in a buy side firm or management consulting firm.
Educated to a third-level degree standard or equivalent.
Have a strong knowledge of operational risk management across the various risk types
Highly detail-oriented self-starter and team player, with the ability to maintain accuracy and effectiveness while working in a high-pressure and fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills - ability to appropriately engage with stakeholders at all levels.
Good technical skills including Excel and other end user computing tools.
Knowledge of both public and private markets (preferable).
Some experience of board engagement (preferable).
MBA, CFA, or FRM is considered a plus but not required.
