lluka Resources is a global critical minerals company, with a proud 70-year history, entering a pivotal time of growth.  

Join Iluka's new Balranald Operation that deploys a novel, remotely operated, underground mining technology based on Horizontal Direction Drilling platforms to extract ore. Balranald deposit is one of the highest-grade mineral sands deposits in the world, containing significant quantities of titanium minerals rutile and zircon, as well as smaller but material quantities of rare earths. 

About the location 

Iluka’s Balranald operation is located just outside of Balranald township in regional south-western NSW.  

You can choose to reside locally, drive-in drive-out from towns within the regional area, or fly-in fly-out from Melbourne.

About the role 

Working closely with operational teams, the Planner will produce and lead the work management process for the operations and maintenance teams to implement and sustain best practice asset management maintenance planning and scheduling.

The successful candidate will have the chance to shape the maintenance strategy, influence best practices, and drive continuous improvement from the ground up.

Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, the main responsibilities of this role include:

• Maximise plant utilisation and ensure it is operated to the full potential by conducting regular inspections with shift personnel

• Ensuring effective maintenance of plant and equipment by utilising the CMMS system and communication protocols to identify outstanding tasks 

• Assist maintenance and operations teams with breakdown maintenance in a prompt and timely manner so as to minimise operational downtime 

• Prioritise maintenance tasks in conjunction with Superintendents, Plant Coordinators, Maintenance Planners and Reliability engineers 

• Organise and run weekly planning meetings with key stakeholders, create and schedule weekly maintenance and outage plans 

• Own and adjust the master data, work with the asset management team to improve any shortfalls 

• Work closely with the operations department to ensure high-quality planning and delivery for site and maintenance shut works 

• Work with engineering team to maintain and oversee the ongoing management of classified plant 

• Work professionally with suppliers, procurement and stores around spare parts and their management to fulfill maintenance plans 

About you 

To be successful for this role, you will have:

• Mechanical trade qualification highly regarded

• Alternatively, a tertiary qualification in engineering with experience in a planning or scheduling role considered 

• High level of Work Management process

• Demonstrated experience in the maintenance of mining and mineral processing plants, fixed and mobile 

• Exposure to mechanical and electrical systems 

• Demonstrated experience with computer based CMMS system such as SAP maintenance planning systems
