ABB is seeking a motivated and versatile Corporate Security Specialist to join our Corporate Security team in Canada. This unique hybrid role combines operational security responsibilities with intelligence analysis and reporting. The successful candidate will spend approximately 50% of their time supporting day-to-day security operations across Canada and 50% developing intelligence products that enhance ABB's proactive understanding of geopolitical, operational, and business risks.

This role is ideal for a candidate who is intellectually curious, technologically savvy, comfortable leveraging AI and data analytics, and eager to develop expertise across multiple security disciplines. We are less focused on finding someone with extensive experience in every security domain and more interested in identifying a candidate with strong analytical skills, adaptability, sound judgment, and a passion for learning.

Reporting To: Country Security Manager, Canada

Responsibilities:

• Physical Security Infrastructure & Vendor Management – Support physical security across all facilities and project sites, coordinate security vendors and guards, and manage access control, surveillance, and visitor management systems.

• Risk Assessment & Incident Management – Conduct security assessments, audits, and risk reviews; support investigations, incident response, and corrective actions.

• Crisis Preparedness & Personnel Protection – Develop and maintain crisis preparedness and emergency communications plans, support continuity planning, security awareness, travel security, and executive protection.

• Strategic Support & Reporting – Lead special security projects and maintain security metrics, dashboards, and leadership reporting in partnership with the Country Security Manager.

• Intelligence Gathering & Research – Monitor geopolitical, security, crime, supply chain, unrest, and continuity risks; conduct open-source research using public, commercial, and internal sources; track global events and impacts on ABB operations.

• Threat Assessment & Analysis – Assess emerging threats and business impacts; leverage AI, analytics, automation, and dashboards to enhance intelligence capabilities.

• Reporting & Executive Communication – Produce actionable reports, alerts, and executive briefings to support decision-making.

• Global Coordination & Crisis Support – Align intelligence methods and reporting with global security teams; support crisis monitoring and incident intelligence.

Qualifications for the role:

• Education & Background – Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field such as security, intelligence, political science, international relations, criminal justice, business, information technology, or data analytics.

• Core Competencies – Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills; ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive information; capability to perform effectively in dynamic environments.

• Technical Proficiency – Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and familiarity with data visualization, automation, and AI-enabled productivity or analytical tools.

• Language & Work Authorization – Proficiency in French (mandatory) and English required to communicate with internal clients and partners; eligibility to work in Canada and obtain/maintain a security clearance if required.

• Professional Experience & Certifications – Experience or knowledge in corporate security, intelligence, investigations, risk management, emergency/crisis management, business continuity, physical security systems, travel risk, or supply chain security; professional certifications (CPP, PCI, PSP) or military/law enforcement background are assets.
