Description
Schilling Beer Co. is looking for an experienced hospitality leader to join our management team as Assistant Manager of Front of House Operations.
The Assistant Manager is the second-in-command to the Front of House General Manager and plays a key role in the day-to-day leadership of our Front of House operations across the Schilling campus, including the Brew Pub, Mill Street Kitchen, and Store & Tasting Room.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys developing people, creating exceptional guest experiences, improving operations, and taking ownership of results. The Assistant Manager will work closely with the FOH General Manager and collaborate with our BOH Leadership Team, Finance, Events, Production, and Ownership to ensure a cohesive and successful operation.
What You'll Do:
- Support the FOH General Manager in leading and developing the Front of House team.
- Lead by example and consistently reinforce Schilling's values of being world-class, treating colleagues and guests as family, staying resilient and positive, and leading well—not following.
- Manage and hold FOH staff accountable for service standards, cleanliness, quality, beer knowledge, side work, checklists, and cash handling.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management of FOH employees.
- Oversee FOH scheduling, call-outs, coverage, and time-clock accuracy across the campus.
- Work regular Manager-on-Duty (MOD) shifts to remain connected to the team and day-to-day operation.
- Help drive onsite beer sales and revenue through staff training, sales accountability, and operational improvements.
- Maintain FOH inventory systems, including ordering, counts, variance tracking, and reconciliation.
- Maintain and troubleshoot guest-facing POS and retail systems and serve as a primary point of contact for these systems.
- Work with Production to maintain draft systems and address issues proactively.
- Coordinate FOH beer education and product knowledge training.
- Partner with the BOH Leadership Team to improve communication, service flow, quality, staffing, inventory, and the overall guest experience.
- Work with the FOH General Manager, Chef/Kitchen Manager, and Finance team to achieve identified operational and financial goals.
- Support special events and major campus operations as needed.

- Has previous management or leadership experience in hospitality, food & beverage, retail, or a similar environment.
- Has business administration, operations, or financial administration experience and is comfortable working with budgets, financial metrics, invoices, inventory, payroll information, and operational reporting.
- Is comfortable being a visible, hands-on leader.
- Enjoys developing people and creating a strong team culture.
- Can balance excellent hospitality with financial and operational accountability.
- Communicates clearly and works well across departments.
- Is organized, dependable, and strong at follow-through.
- Can make decisions independently while understanding when to collaborate or escalate.
- Is comfortable working with scheduling, inventory, POS systems, and operational metrics.
- Is committed to maintaining high standards for service, quality, cleanliness, and guest experience.

About the Role
This is a leadership position, working directly under the Front of House General Manager. The Assistant Manager will have meaningful ownership over assigned areas of Front of House operations while working within the broader direction and strategy established by the FOH General Manager.

Compensation & Benefits:
- Base salary: $55,000–$65,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
