$100,000–$150,000 base plus revenue-based incentives and client-referral bonuses
Primarily office-based during busy season; hybrid flexibility negotiable
Solid Rock Recruiting is partnering with an established Denver-area tax practice to hire an active CPA who enjoys hands-on tax preparation and building lasting client relationships.
This position offers an existing client base and the opportunity to work closely with wealth-management professionals on year-round tax planning for individuals, families, and closely held businesses.
The opportunity
• Prepare individual and business tax returns, including complex and multistate filings.
• Own client work from gathering information through preparation and filing.
• Meet directly with clients and explain tax matters in clear, practical terms.
• Develop tax projections and proactive planning recommendations.
• Coordinate with financial advisors and other professionals on clients’ broader financial goals.
• Address tax notices and help improve processes as the practice grows.
What we’re looking for
• Active CPA license in good standing and ability to practice in Colorado.
• At least five years of relevant tax experience.
• Strong individual and closely held business tax preparation skills.
• Confidence delivering accurate work independently.
• Ability to lead productive client conversations and manage deadlines.
• Willingness to commute to Lone Tree and work primarily in the office during busy season.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Active PTIN or ability to obtain one promptly.
Drake, trust and estate, and wealth-management experience are helpful but not required.
Compensation and benefits
• $100,000–$150,000 base salary, depending on experience.
• Revenue-based incentives and client-referral bonuses.
• Health, dental, and vision insurance.
• Paid time off.
• 401(k) with a 3% match.
• CPE and professional-development support.
• Private office, underground parking, and convenient light-rail access.
Schedule
Busy season requires substantial office attendance for client meetings and may include evenings and Saturdays. Hybrid arrangements are negotiable based on client needs and performance, with greater flexibility possible outside busy season.
This position includes substantial hands-on preparation and independent responsibility for work quality.
