Description
Alcott Global is retained to search for a Global Supply Chain Director for a leading high-precision company. The role will be based in either Singapore or China.
Role Overview
Our client, a leading global high-precision manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Global Supply Chain Director to lead its end-to-end supply chain organization. This is a high-potential, high-visibility role for an international leader.
The role will have a strong emphasis on demand planning, supply planning, S&OP, inventory optimization, and material availability across their global network in US, Europe and Asia. The successful candidate will establish an integrated planning process that translates customer demand into reliable supply, production, inventory, and logistics plans.
The role will also oversee warehousing and transportation, improve on-time delivery, and ensure materials are available to support uninterrupted production. This requires a strategic and operational leader who can influence stakeholders across Sales, Manufacturing, Procurement, Finance, Customer Service, and regional supply chain teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the global supply chain function across demand planning, supply planning, S&OP, inventory management, material planning, warehousing, transportation, and customer delivery.
- Own and strengthen the global S&OP process, ensuring effective alignment between customer demand, production capacity, material availability, inventory, and financial objectives.
- Establish a structured planning process, clear governance, decision rights, and accountability across the S&OP cycle.
- Lead demand planning processes to improve forecast accuracy and create a reliable view of short-, medium-, and long-term customer demand.
- Drive supply and capacity planning across manufacturing sites, suppliers, and logistics operations to ensure demand can be fulfilled effectively.
- Translate demand forecasts into executable plans for production, procurement, inventory, and logistics.
- Facilitate fact-based discussions with Sales, Operations, Procurement, and Finance to resolve demand-and-supply imbalances and agree on priorities.
- Develop scenarios and recommendations covering capacity constraints, material shortages, changes in customer demand, and supply chain disruptions.
- Ensure material availability to support uninterrupted production, with a strong focus on eliminating shortages and stockouts.
- Establish inventory strategies and control mechanisms that maintain the right stock at the right location while improving inventory turns.
- Reduce excess, slow-moving, and obsolete inventory without negatively affecting production continuity or customer service.
- Improve on-time delivery, OTIF, lead times, order fulfilment, and overall customer service performance.
- Oversee logistics operations, including warehousing, transportation, freight management, distribution, and third-party logistics providers.
- Optimize the global logistics network to improve service, cost, responsiveness, and operational resilience.
- Define and monitor KPIs covering forecast accuracy, forecast bias, plan adherence, material availability, inventory turns, OTIF, lead times, logistics costs, and supplier performance.
- Lead supply chain transformation initiatives, including process standardization, planning-system improvements, digitalization, and the use of data and analytics.
- Build, develop, and lead a high-performing global supply chain and planning organization.
- Influence senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to drive alignment, accountability, and timely decision-making.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Operations, Business, or a related discipline; an advanced degree is preferred.
- Significant leadership experience in global supply chain management within a complex manufacturing environment.
- Deep expertise in demand planning, supply planning, capacity planning, production planning, inventory management, and S&OP.
- Proven experience designing, implementing, or significantly improving an integrated global S&OP process.
- Demonstrated ability to connect commercial forecasts with operational, inventory, capacity, and financial plans.
- Strong track record of improving forecast accuracy, planning discipline, material availability, inventory performance, and customer delivery.
- Experience managing complex product portfolios, demanding customer requirements, and short- and long-term capacity constraints.
- Strong understanding of ERP and advanced planning systems; experience with supply chain digitalization and analytics is highly desirable.
- Experience in high-precision manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, electronics, medical devices, industrial technology, or a comparable sector is strongly preferred.
- Strong logistics experience covering warehousing, transportation, distribution, freight management, and third-party logistics providers.
- Ability to balance customer service, inventory, capacity, cost, and operational resilience when making critical trade-offs.
- Highly developed leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to align stakeholders across Sales, Manufacturing, Procurement, Finance, and regional operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the confidence to challenge assumptions and drive fact-based decisions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills within a global, multicultural, and matrixed organization.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
