Heartline Staffing is recruiting an Applications Engineer for an onsite opportunity in New Haven, Connecticut. This customer-facing technical role combines applications engineering, mechanical problem-solving and technical support while working closely with customers, distributors and cross-functional internal teams.

The position is well suited for someone with a mechanical engineering background or demonstrated mechanical aptitude who can understand technical applications, solve problems and explain complex technical concepts clearly to customers. Direct pump-industry experience is preferred but is not required.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Applications Engineer provides technical application support within an inside sales organization and works as part of a five-person Applications Engineering team. The role interacts cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, Sales and Customer Service and reports to the Applications/Inside Sales Manager.

COMPENSATION
• $70,000-$85,000 Base Salary

APPLICATIONS ENGINEERING
• Provide Customer-Facing Technical Application Support
• Apply Mechanical Engineering Knowledge And Mechanical Aptitude To Technical Applications
• Apply Understanding Of Fluid Dynamics To Application Problems
• Troubleshoot Technical And Mechanical Application Issues
• Communicate Technical Concepts Clearly To Customers And End Users
• Support Customers And Distributors With Technical Solutions

TECHNICAL & PRODUCT SUPPORT
• Support Selection, Quoting, Troubleshooting And Application Of Industrial Mechanical Equipment
• Interpret Engineering Information And Technical Requirements
• Support Technical Product Quotations
• Work With Customers, Distributors And Internal Teams To Resolve Application Issues
• Provide Technical Support To Sales And Customer-Facing Teams

TEAM & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
• Work As Part Of A Five-Person Applications Engineering Team
• Collaborate Across Engineering, Production, Sales And Customer Service

Requirements

• Experience Interacting With Customers And Explaining Technical Concepts In Simple Terms REQUIRED
• Mechanical Engineering Background OR Demonstrated Mechanical Aptitude With An Understanding Of Mechanical Engineering And Fluid Dynamics REQUIRED
• Bachelor's Degree OR Demonstrated Technical Aptitude Meeting The Stated Experience Alternative REQUIRED
• Strong Technical Problem-Solving Ability In An Engineering / Application Support Environment REQUIRED
• Ability To Work Onsite In New Haven, CT REQUIRED
• Ability To Meet The Local-Candidate Requirement REQUIRED
• Ability To Travel As Required By The Position REQUIRED

• Engineering Bachelor's Degree
• Pump Industry Experience
• Pump Performance Curve Interpretation
