Job Overview

Under the supervision of a faculty member the Research Assistant, Law Center-Georgetown University is responsible for assisting the faculty in a variety of administrative tasks related to research project. This may include but is not limited to, researching the relevant legal source materials, conducting reviews of the relevant academic literatures and analyzing data, and drafting articles and books for scholarly publication.

Duties include but are not limited to

• Perform legal research and / or literature reviews

• Engage in legal analysis and writing

• Prepare articles book chapters, presentations, reports, white papers and the like for the purpose of disseminating research.

Work Interactions

The work performed by this position supports the research activities of faculty. Research and the creation and dissemination of knowledge are key aspects of the University’s mission. The Faculty Research Assistant reports to a member of the faculty and to the Associate Dean of Research. The Faculty Research Assistant has no direct reports.

Requirements and Qualifications

• B.A. or other relevant postsecondary degree, as required by the faculty member.

• Academic and /or work experience related to the field of research

• Experience with specialized datasets or software 

• Other preferred requirements and qualifications, as determined by the faculty member

Pay Range 

The projected hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $17.55 - $21.45. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
