Schedule: Friday - Sunday | 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM
 

Position Overview

Citadel Security USA is seeking a dependable Unarmed Security Officer for a weekend overnight assignment in Avon. This position combines routine patrols, surveillance monitoring, access control, incident response, and professional public interaction.

The officer will help maintain a safe and orderly environment while remaining approachable and service-oriented. Strong awareness, good judgment, and the ability to remain composed during late-night situations are important for this role.
 

Responsibilities

Overnight Security Coverage

• Conduct scheduled patrols throughout assigned interior and exterior areas.
• Check hallways, common areas, parking areas, restricted spaces, and other designated locations.
• Maintain an active and professional security presence throughout the overnight shift.
• Monitor entrances and exits for unusual activity or unauthorized access.
• Verify identification or credentials for employees, vendors, visitors, and other authorized individuals when required.
• Observe assigned areas for safety concerns, suspicious activity, property issues, or policy violations.
• Follow all post orders, company procedures, and assignment-specific instructions.
   

Surveillance & Access Monitoring

• Monitor available CCTV and alarm systems throughout the shift.
• Recognize and communicate unusual activity observed through surveillance equipment.
• Maintain awareness of designated access points and controlled areas.
• Issue, receive, and maintain accountability for keys or access credentials when assigned.
• Report access concerns, equipment issues, or system alerts to the appropriate personnel.
   

Incident Response

• Respond appropriately to alarms, medical situations, disturbances, and other incidents.
• Follow established procedures when addressing safety or security concerns.
• Maintain a calm and professional demeanor during high-pressure situations.
• Use appropriate verbal communication and de-escalation techniques when necessary.
• Request supervisor, emergency, or other appropriate assistance when circumstances exceed the scope of the position.
• Document incidents, accidents, unusual activity, and other reportable events accurately.
   

Guest & Staff Support

• Provide courteous assistance to guests, employees, and authorized individuals.
• Answer routine questions and provide directions when appropriate.
• Listen professionally to complaints or concerns and direct individuals to the appropriate resource when necessary.
• Maintain a friendly, approachable presence without compromising security responsibilities.
• Interact respectfully with individuals from a variety of backgrounds.
• Support a safe and comfortable environment through professional communication and conduct.
   

Documentation & Communication

• Complete accurate daily activity logs.
• Prepare clear and factual incident reports.
• Report hazards, unusual conditions, and security concerns to designated management or supervisors.
• Communicate important information during shift handoffs when applicable.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding security-related information.
   

Required Qualifications

• Valid driver's license.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to remain alert throughout overnight hours.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining appropriate communication with supervisors.
• Ability to successfully complete required background and employment screening.
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous security or public-facing experience.
• Experience monitoring CCTV or alarm systems.
• Familiarity with access-control procedures and credential verification.
• Experience preparing incident reports or daily activity logs.
• Previous experience handling complaints or difficult interactions.
• Strong conflict-resolution and verbal de-escalation abilities.
• Experience working independently during overnight shifts.

Physical & Work Requirements

• Combination of indoor and outdoor patrol duties.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to conduct routine patrols throughout assigned areas.
• Ability to remain alert and attentive during overnight hours.
• Ability to work in varying outdoor weather conditions when required.
• Ability to respond appropriately to changing conditions and unexpected situations.
