Target Range:

$25.00/Hr. - $30.00/Hr.

Actual starting pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.

Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Cash Bonus Target: 10%

Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Restricted Stock Units Bonus Target: 10%

These discretionary target bonuses may be awarded semi-annually based upon your achievement of performance goals and targets.

About This Job

The Paralegal provides substantive legal and operational support to the Office of the General Counsel. This role assists the Paralegal Manager, in-house attorneys and legal management with a broad range of matters, including subpoena review and production, contract, NDAs, regulatory inquiries, legal research, and various legal department operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced banking environment.

The position works closely with business units across the organization, including Deposit Operations, Commercial Banking, Compliance, Risk Management, Finance, Fraud Operations, and Information Technology, to ensure timely and accurate handling of legal matters.

Responsibilities:

Legal Process Management

·    Review and process subpoenas, search warrants, and law enforcement requests, as well as other legal orders. May assist with other routine tasks such as levies, garnishments, bankruptcy notices.

·    Act as a point of contact between internal banking departments.

·    Communicate with in-house or outside counsel, courts, government agencies, trustees, law enforcement, and third-party requestors.

·    Maintain legal matter tracking systems and ensure compliance with applicable service level agreement (SLA) response deadlines.

·    Assist with account restraints, legal holds, and related legal department workflows.

·    Assist with reviewing contracts, non-disclosure agreements, and vendor-related legal documentation.

Regulatory and Compliance Support

·    Research applicable laws, regulations, and legal developments affecting banking operations.

·    Assist by responding to regulatory inquiries, as needed.

Legal Operations

·    Collaborate with cross-functional business units to improve legal department processes and efficiency.

·    Support document retention, legal hold, and records management initiatives.

·    Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and department reference materials.

·    Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.

Qualifications:

·    Bachelor's degree.

·    Paralegal certification from an American Bar Association (ABA)-approved paralegal program.

·    At least one year of experience in legal operations or as a paralegal supporting an in-house legal team and/or attorneys within a law firm.

·    Strong understanding of legal process and court-issued documents.

·    Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

·    Ability to independently organize, prioritize, and manage multiple matters and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

·    High level of attention to detail, sound judgment, and initiative.

·    Ability to work effectively across departments and communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders.

·    Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
