## Your Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer for John Deere Harverster Works, located in Moline, IL, you will work as part of an agile product team to develop, test, and support software solutions that help improve manufacturing operations and business processes. You will collaborate with experienced engineers, product owners, and business partners to deliver customer value while building your technical and professional skills.
In this role, you will:
- Develop, test, debug, and maintain software applications and services.
- Participate in agile team activities such as planning, estimation, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following established engineering standards and best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and use feedback to continuously improve your technical skills.
- Investigate and resolve software defects and production issues with guidance from experienced team members.
- Learn and apply modern software engineering practices, including version control, automated testing, CI/CD, and observability.
- Collaborate with teammates and business partners to understand requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.
- Contribute to application documentation, technical knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Build knowledge of manufacturing processes, business operations, and the technologies that support them.

## What Skills You Need
- You should have experience in coding and problem-solving skills. Experience in multiple technologies, and the ability to work independently. The tech stack used includes Experience developing applications using React and TypeScript through academic coursework, internships, personal projects, or professional experience.
- Foundational programming and problem-solving skills.
- Basic understanding of web application development, APIs, databases, and software testing concepts.
- Familiarity with Git and modern software development practices.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and learning agility.
## What Makes You Stand Out
- Exposure to Python, SQL, or data engineering concepts through coursework, internships, personal projects, or professional experience.
- Familiarity with cloud-native development practices and technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud platforms.
- Experience using GitHub and modern software development workflows, including pull requests and automated testing.
- Exposure to Agile software development methodologies and team-based delivery practices.
- Familiarity with application monitoring, observability, or troubleshooting concepts.
- Experience with data platforms such as Databricks or analytics-focused solutions.
- Knowledge of manufacturing, supply chain, or industrial business processes.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot.
## Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field; or equivalent relevant experience.
