Who we want:
The Technology & Operations Administrator supports the day-to-day technology, security, facilities, and operational needs of United Way for Greater Austin. This role serves as a primary resource for technical support, application administration, endpoint management, vendor coordination, and workplace operations.
This position is responsible for resolving technology issues, supporting business applications, coordinating technology deployments, maintaining security and compliance practices, managing organizational assets, and ensuring a productive workplace environment.
The ideal candidate is service-oriented, highly organized, technically proficient, and able to collaborate effectively with employees, vendors, consultants, facilities partners, and organizational leadership.
What you'll do:
Technology Support & Administration
- Provide technical support for organizational systems, applications, devices, and services.
- Administer Microsoft 365, Salesforce, and other business-critical platforms.
- Troubleshoot user, application, access, hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Manage user accounts, licenses, permissions, onboarding, and offboarding activities.
- Coordinate system upgrades, testing, implementations, and vendor-supported solutions.
- Maintain technical documentation, knowledge resources, and support procedures.
Security, Endpoint & Compliance Operations
- Support endpoint management, device deployment, patching, security controls, and compliance monitoring.
- Assist with identity and access management, multifactor authentication, and security best practices.
- Participate in security incident response, investigations, and remediation efforts.
- Support backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, and risk management activities.
- Maintain documentation and evidence required for audits, compliance reviews, and security assessments.
Technology Projects & Change Management
- Coordinate technology deployments, upgrades, and organizational technology changes.
- Support change management processes, user training, testing, communication, and adoption efforts.
- Track project timelines, risks, dependencies, and implementation activities.
- Communicate technical changes effectively to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
Facilities, Vendors & Asset Management
- Coordinate office operations, facilities requests, workplace technology, and physical access systems.
- Serve as a liaison with vendors, contractors, managed service providers, and property partners.
- Manage technology assets, software licenses, inventories, renewals, and equipment lifecycle activities.
- Support technology purchasing, vendor relationships, contract administration, and service delivery.
What you'll bring:
Required Qualifications
- Experience in information technology, systems administration, technical support, or a related field.
- Experience supporting business applications, Microsoft 365, and enterprise software platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of endpoint management, security practices, access management, and compliance requirements.
- Experience coordinating vendors, projects, deployments, or operational initiatives.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high levels of customer service.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Salesforce administration or support.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration, including Entra ID, Intune, Defender, SharePoint, Teams, and Exchange Online.
- Experience with cybersecurity, incident response, disaster recovery, and compliance frameworks such as HIPAA, FERPA, HITRUST, or NIST.
- Experience with IT service management, asset management, and change management practices.
- Experience working in a nonprofit, healthcare, education, or mission-driven organization.
Preferred Certifications
- Salesforce Certified Administrator
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert
- ITIL Foundation
- CompTIA CySA+ or equivalent cybersecurity certification
- CAPM, Prosci Change Management, CBCP, or related professional certifications
