About Us
Össur is a leading global provider of innovative mobility solutions that help people live a Life Without Limitations®. Significant ongoing investment in research and development has led to over 2,100 patents, award-winning designs, and successful clinical outcomes. Össur is focused on improving people’s mobility through the delivery of Prosthetics and Bracing & Supports solutions. Helping people live a Life Without Limitations is why we exist as a company.
About the Role
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving HCP adoption and patient enrollment for the LIFE program Ossur’s support program for newly amputated lower-limb patients, by opening and developing clinic and hospital accounts in the assigned US territory and embedding patient enrollment into the clinical pathway. This role requires a proven healthcare business developer, relationship builder, and self-starter who can sell a service value proposition to clinical audiences, navigate multi-stakeholder hospital environments, and generate the market learnings that inform the program’s scale decisions.
What You’ll Do
Account Development: Identify, engage, and enroll prosthetic clinics and hospital systems into the LIFE program, owning territory account planning, pipeline management, and enrollment targets end to end.
Hospital Channel Execution: Build relationships with discharge planners, rehabilitation physicians, nurses, and case managers to embed LIFE enrollment into the hospital discharge workflow, reaching patients before discharge.
Clinician Partnership: Position the LIFE program as reinforcing the CPO-patient relationship, centered on patient retention, early problem detection, and continuity of care, and recruit clinicians into co-development and feedback activities.
Enrollment Performance: Drive patient enrollment against program targets by distributing approved enrollment materials, facilitating HCP sign-up conversations, and removing friction from the QR code and landing page enrollment path.
Market Insight: Capture HCP objections, questions, and competitive intelligence in the field and feed structured insights back to the program lead to shape program design and scale decisions.
Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate with Patient Advocates, the ForMotion national accounts team, clinical specialists, and US marketing to align messaging, hand-offs, and account coverage across the territory.
Compliance: Ensure all HCP and patient-facing engagement uses approved materials only and complies with legal, consent, and HIPAA requirements, escalating compliance questions before acting.
Who You Are
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Health Sciences, or a related field.
5+ years of business development or sales experience in medical devices, healthcare services, or hospital markets; orthotics and prosthetics experience strongly preferred.
Proven track record opening hospital accounts and navigating multi-stakeholder decision units such as discharge planning, rehabilitation, and case management.
Familiarity with the prosthetic care model and clinic economics, including the role of the certified prosthetist orthotist (CPO) in ongoing patient care.
Demonstrated ability to sell a program or service value proposition, rather than a product, to clinical and administrative audiences.
Disciplined pipeline and activity management, with proficiency in Salesforce CRM for account planning and reporting.
Exceptional communication skills, with comfort operating in a pilot environment where the playbook is still being written.
Based in the assigned territory with willingness to travel regularly; working knowledge of healthcare compliance requirements, including HIPAA.
