Position Title: Senior Engineer
Build your career and Australia’s future.
Not many people can say they are working on building Australia’s future. With us you’ll be doing just that, leaving a legacy for all Australians. Plus, there’s equal employment, great training, and true flexible working arrangements.
A fantastic opportunity has presented itself for a Senior Engineer reporting to Executive Manager – Core Networks
A bit about your role
The Senior Engineer is responsible for leading and delivering network integration, augmentation, and migration activities across nbn’s core and access networks. The role focuses on improving deployment processes through automation, scripting, and emerging AI capabilities to increase efficiency and reduce operational risk. Working closely with internal stakeholders, delivery partners, and vendors, the Senior Engineer provides technical leadership, mentors Migration Engineers, develops and maintains work instructions and deployment methodologies, supports troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures network changes are delivered safely with minimal customer impact.
The role also contributes to solution design reviews, process optimisation, and capability uplift across the team, while supporting critical after-hours network deployments and migrations as required.
A bit about you
The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in telecommunications or technology environments, with a solid understanding of network operations, OSS platforms, and end-to-end network topology. They will be skilled in network migration and integration activities, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and using tools such as SQL and Python to support automation, data management, and operational efficiency.
They will also demonstrate strong stakeholder management, problem-solving, and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, deliver outcomes in complex environments, and contribute to continuous improvement across network and operational processes.
Application Process
You may find that your experience does not match every requirement listed but, if this role has piqued your interest or resonates with where you are in your career, we encourage you to apply rather than self-select out. We are interested in transferable skills and your skills and perspective could be exactly what we would value to strengthen our team.
