The Manager, Global Marketing Strategy & Transformation plays a key role in shaping and advancing Manulife's global marketing strategy and transformation agenda.
Working closely with marketing leadership and partners across the organization, this role supports annual strategic planning, business reporting, strategic advisory work, competitive intelligence, and thought leadership that inform decision making and drive business outcomes.
The ideal candidate combines structured problem solving with strong business judgment, intellectual curiosity, and exceptional communication skills. They are comfortable navigating ambiguity, synthesizing complex information, and translating insights into clear recommendations and executive level presentations.
This role is well suited to individuals with experience in management consulting, strategy consulting, corporate strategy, or transformation who are looking to apply their skills within a global marketing organization
Position Responsibilities
Strategic Planning
Support the annual strategic planning process for Global Marketing, including the development of strategic priorities, business plans, and executive materials.
Partner with marketing and business leaders to assess opportunities, evaluate strategic choices, and build alignment around key priorities.
Conduct research and analysis on customer, market, business, and competitive trends that may impact marketing strategy and performance.
Support strategic discussions, planning sessions, leadership workshops, and executive offsites.
Translate strategic priorities into clear objectives, initiatives, and measures of success.
Business Reporting & Executive Insights
Develop materials for monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews, leadership discussions, and executive forums.
Synthesize performance results, strategic progress, risks, and opportunities into concise executive level narratives.
Partner with teams across Marketing to gather inputs, identify key insights, and ensure reporting is accurate, relevant, and decision-oriented.
Track progress against strategic priorities and support leadership in monitoring performance and outcomes.
Continuously improve reporting processes, templates, and governance.
Strategic Advisory & Special Projects
Support high priority strategic initiatives and special projects sponsored by Marketing leadership, enterprise leaders, or the Office of the CEO.
Conduct strategic assessments, benchmarking, research, and analysis to support decision making.
Evaluate opportunities, risks, and trade-offs associated with key business and marketing decisions.
Develop fact based recommendations and perspectives for leadership consideration.
Provide flexible problem solving support on emerging priorities and business questions.
Marketing Intelligence & Thought Leadership
Monitor emerging trends and leading practices across marketing, customer experience, brand, content, digital, data, AI, and marketing technology.
Conduct competitive intelligence and external research to identify opportunities, risks, and implications for the organization.
Develop perspectives on emerging marketing topics and industry trends to inform strategic discussions and decision making.
Assess the impact of evolving customer expectations, competitive developments, and technological innovation on marketing strategy and capabilities.
Support the development of thought leadership and future state perspectives on marketing capabilities, operating models, and industry trends.
Executive Communication & Storytelling
Develop clear, compelling, and visually effective PowerPoint presentations for senior leaders and executive forums.
Build storylines that communicate business context, insights, implications, recommendations, and decisions.
Transform complex information into concise, executive ready communications.
Prepare briefing materials, strategic updates, business review content, thought leadership pieces, and leadership presentations.
Present findings and recommendations in a clear, credible, and impactful manner
Required Qualifications
3-5 years of experience in management consulting, strategy consulting, corporate strategy, transformation, marketing strategy, or a related field.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, Finance, Marketing, or a related discipline.
Demonstrated ability to solve complex and ambiguous business problems using structured analytical approaches.
Advanced PowerPoint skills and experience creating executive level presentations and strategic communications.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong executive storytelling abilities.
Strong analytical and synthesis skills, with the ability to turn data, research, and stakeholder input into actionable insights.
Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities.
High attention to detail and commitment to delivering polished, high quality work.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a management consulting or strategy consulting environment.
Experience supporting annual strategic planning, business reviews, executive reporting, or transformation programs.
Familiarity with modern marketing capabilities, including brand, content, customer experience, digital marketing, marketing technology, data, and AI.
Experience conducting competitive intelligence, industry research, benchmarking, or strategic assessments.
Experience developing thought leadership or executive perspectives on business, marketing, customer, or technology trends.
Experience in financial services, insurance, wealth and asset management, or another large, complex organization.

Salary range is expected to be between
$103,270.00 CAD - $153,270.00 CADEmployees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
