Quality Assurance Supervisor
Location: Americus, Georgia
Reports to: Quality Assurance Manager
Help protect the quality of every product we make
Tamarack Foods is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor to lead our QA Leads and Technicians on the production floor. You will help the team apply food safety and quality standards every day, verify that products and processes meet requirements, and coach employees when issues arise. This role also supports the Safety Manager for approximately 10 hours each week.
What You'll Do

Supervise, coach, and develop QA Leads and Technicians, including providing performance feedback and addressing disciplinary matters when needed.

Plan QA staffing and schedules, including vacation coverage.

Direct daily quality checks to ensure finished products meet specifications and production follows approved processes.

Verify compliance with product specifications, process sheets, SOPs, SSOPs, the HACCP plan, and USDA label approvals.

Ensure pest control inspections and GMP audits are completed according to company standards.

Review pre-operational and operational sanitation results to confirm cleaning meets established requirements and USDA expectations.

Serve as a department resource on SQF, USDA, GMP, SSOP, and HACCP requirements, and act as the backup for the HACCP program.

Partner with Corporate QA, R&D, and Regulatory colleagues when updating food safety policies and procedures.

Train QA employees on quality standards and GMP requirements.

Support the Safety Manager for approximately 10 hours per week and serve as backup for the QA Manager when needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring

Experience in USDA-inspected ready-to-eat food manufacturing.

At least two years of food processing or manufacturing experience and two years of supervisory experience.

Strong working knowledge of GMPs, sanitation, HACCP, SQF, and USDA requirements.

The ability to teach standards clearly, address problems promptly, and lead a team in a production environment.

HACCP certification, or the ability to obtain it within six months of employment.

SQF Practitioner certification, or the ability to obtain it within six months of employment.

An undergraduate degree in food technology or a related science is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
