About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Finance Manager to join the Finance leadership team at Sysco Ireland.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, maintaining a strong control environment and developing a high-performing finance team while supporting the continued evolution of the finance function.
This role is being recruited during a significant period of transformation as Sysco Ireland implements Microsoft Dynamics 365, one of the largest change programmes undertaken by the finance function.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to both the day-to-day leadership of the department and the longer-term development of the finance organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Control
- Lead the month-end close process for assigned areas.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the balance sheet.
- Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal control requirements.
- Drive continuous improvements in financial reporting processes.
Reporting & Compliance
- Support statutory reporting requirements.
- Coordinate internal and external audit activities.
- Maintain strong governance and financial controls.
- Support tax compliance and other regulatory reporting.
Leadership & People Development
- Lead, coach and develop members of the finance team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and collaboration.
- Support the development of the Finance Graduate Programme through coaching, mentoring and technical development of graduates, working collaboratively across the finance leadership team to build future finance talent
- Support graduate rotations, ensuring graduates gain broad exposure across the finance function while building both technical and commercial capability.
- Identify and develop future finance talent to support succession planning across the department.
Continuous Improvement & Transformation
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, controls and efficiencies.
- Champion standardisation and best practice across the finance function.
- Support automation and process simplification initiatives.
- Lead or support business projects from a finance perspective, ensuring successful delivery of finance objectives, effective stakeholder engagement and robust financial governance.
ERP Transformation
- Partner with the D365 implementation team to support the successful delivery of the ERP programme.
- Support process design, testing, business readiness and user adoption.
- Act as a change champion within the finance team, helping colleagues adapt to new processes and ways of working.
Candidate Profile
Essential
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong technical accounting knowledge.
- 3+ years experience in financial reporting and financial control.
- Previous experience leading or developing finance professionals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working with ERP systems.
Desirable
- Experience within FMCG, manufacturing or distribution.
- Experience supporting ERP implementation or finance transformation programmes.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365.

Working in a Transforming Finance Function
Sysco Ireland is currently implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365, a major transformation programme that will shape how the finance function operates for years to come.
Over the next 12 months, supporting this implementation will be a key priority for the successful candidate. As the programme progresses and the new ERP system becomes embedded, responsibilities across the finance leadership team are expected to evolve to reflect new processes, technologies and ways of working.
