Job Summary:
The Assistant Maintenance Manager will support the Maintenance Manager in supervising staff, scheduling work, and ensuring timely completion of maintenance tasks. The position involves communicating with various stakeholders, responding to maintenance requests, and maintaining safety standards while fostering cooperation across departments and with external partners. Additionally, the role includes assisting with construction design, development, and inspections as needed.

Responsibilities
- Supervise and support maintenance staff.
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, and leading maintenance personnel.
- Coordinate with internal departments, contractors, and the National Park Service to ensure timely and accurate communication.
- Ensure maintenance operations are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with environmental and company standards.
- Respond to maintenance requests from all departments with professionalism and cooperation.
- Document preventive and corrective maintenance activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Utilize appropriate tools and materials to complete work orders safely and effectively.
- Promote a clean, safe, respectful, and collaborative work environment.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- Work independently with minimal supervision; flexibility to work overtime or nights as needed.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) experience required; familiarity with Maximo preferred.
- Proven leadership and team-building skills with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively.
- CPR and First Aid Certification (current and valid).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and evolving work environment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for the past 3 years.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a supervisory or people management role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including holidays, weekends, and varied shifts.
Preferred Qualifications (if applicable):
- Advanced knowledge of facility maintenance and operations; hospitality industry experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective leadership and team-building abilities.
- Excellent organizational and decision-making skills.
- Familiarity with OSHA General Industry (1910) and Construction (1926) standards.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Physical Requirements include:
- Must be able to wear respiratory protection and comply with related medical screening requirements.
- Walking long distances over uneven terrain and climbing stairs/ladders in all weather conditions.
- Perform physically demanding tasks including standing, bending, kneeling, and crawling for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record for the past 3 years.
- Must be able to work at elevations of more than 7700 feet.
