Working in a fast-paced, integrated project environment, the successful candidate will collaborate with suppliers, Contract Management, Project Delivery, Supply Chain, Engineering, Procurement Engineering, Quality, and Project Controls to support successful project execution.

Reporting to the designated leader within the Procurement Readiness function, the Project Manager - Procurement Readiness is responsible for monitoring supplier performance and maintaining visibility of manufacturing progress, contractual milestones, inspection and testing activities, documentation readiness, and material delivery schedules.

The role provides proactive oversight of supplier execution, validates progress against project requirements, identifies and mitigates delivery risks, coordinates recovery actions, and escalates issues that may impact project, outage, or operational readiness milestones.

Material Oversight begins following purchase-order award and focuses on supplier performance, schedule management, delivery forecasting, issue resolution, risk management, and delivery assurance to support project objectives.

The Project Manager - Procurement Readiness supports the Procurement Readiness operating model by providing accurate delivery visibility and supplier execution oversight while working closely with Contract Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Project Controls, and Project Delivery within their established authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead supplier execution oversight for assigned materials and equipment following purchase order award, ensuring alignment with project, outage, and operational readiness requirements.
  • Coordinate supplier mobilization activities, establish reporting expectations, and ensure supplier schedules, milestones, deliverables, and escalation paths are clearly defined and effectively managed.
  • Monitor supplier performance, manufacturing progress, engineering interfaces, testing activities, documentation readiness, shipment status, and delivery forecasts against contractual commitments and project need dates.
  • Review and validate supplier schedules, progress reports, forecasts, and recovery plans to identify emerging risks, schedule variances, and potential impacts to project delivery.
  • Maintain accurate visibility of material readiness by tracking manufacturing, inspection, testing, documentation, logistics, shipment, and delivery activities throughout the execution lifecycle.
  • Identify, assess, and communicate supplier execution, schedule, quality, documentation, logistics, and delivery risks, ensuring issues are addressed proactively and escalated when necessary.
  • Lead issue management and recovery planning activities, coordinating suppliers and internal stakeholders to develop and implement corrective actions that support successful project outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with Contract Management, Project Delivery, Supply Chain, Engineering, Procurement Engineering, Quality, and Project Controls to align supplier performance, delivery commitments, and project requirements.
  • Monitor inspection, testing, documentation, shipment, and delivery readiness activities to ensure materials and equipment are available to support project schedules and outage milestones.
  • Prepare and maintain material status reports, supplier performance updates, risk assessments, readiness reviews, and delivery forecasts to support project, program, and portfolio decision-making.
  • Facilitate supplier progress reviews, delivery assurance meetings, recovery discussions, and escalation forums while fostering strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, continuous improvement, and disciplined follow-through while supporting safe, reliable, and successful project execution.

Education and Experience:

  • A four-year university degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Construction Management, Operations Management, or related discipline.
  • Six to eight years of progressive experience in supplier oversight, project delivery, procurement, contract execution, manufacturing, project controls, material management, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting major capital projects, plant modifications, refurbishment programs, outages, new-build projects, or technically complex equipment procurements.
  • Demonstrated experience monitoring supplier performance, manufacturing progress, project schedules, testing activities, documentation requirements, and material delivery commitments.
  • Experience reviewing supplier schedules, progress reports, delivery forecasts, manufacturing records, inspection and testing milestones, and recovery plans to support successful project execution.
  • Proven ability to identify execution, schedule, and delivery risks and coordinate mitigation, corrective actions, and recovery strategies with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience working within cross-functional teams, collaborating with suppliers, Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Project Controls, Contract Management, and Project Delivery organizations.
  • Experience in nuclear power, energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, aerospace, construction, transportation, or other highly regulated industries is preferred.
  • Experience supporting factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), inspections, documentation, shipment readiness, turnover, or commissioning activities is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with Bruce Power's project delivery, procurement, supplier oversight, quality, and material management practices is considered an asset.

  • Ability to interpret purchase orders, supplier schedules, milestone plans, progress reports, inspection and test plans, manufacturing records, and technical documentation.
  • Experience assessing supplier performance and validating progress against contractual commitments, delivery milestones, and project requirements.
  • Working knowledge of schedule management, progress measurement, forecasting, issue resolution, risk management, and recovery planning.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify emerging risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to manage multiple procurements and supplier activities with varying levels of complexity, risk, and oversight requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare material status reports, risk assessments, recovery plans, readiness reviews, and executive-level updates.
  • Strong supplier relationship management, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively in a matrixed project environment.
  • Ability to challenge assumptions, evaluate incomplete or conflicting information, and drive fact-based decision-making.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to prioritize competing demands while navigating complex project and supplier-related issues.
  • Proficiency with scheduling, procurement, reporting, document management, dashboard, and Microsoft 365 applications.
