Responsibilities
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Assist with the ongoing and routine benefit enrollment process for new hires and qualified life events.
- Assist associates with benefit inquiries to ensure response in a timely manner.
- Reconcile and audit monthly benefit invoices.
- Assist with Open Enrollment inquiries, communication, and enrollment.
- Assist Benefits Manager with leave administration including working with associates, managers, and third-party vendor to manage all leaves of absence from initial inquiry to return to work.
- Update Cobra participants with carriers.
- Update 401(k) changes in UKG.
- Respond to state mandated medical support orders and updates associate records to comply with request.
- Assist with unemployment claims including gathering documentation, investigation, and submission of claims responses.
- Aid in I-9 compliance including running reports to monitor expiration of work authorizations, verifying documentation, sending out correspondence, and updating I-9s in UKG.
- Coordinate and track exit and stay interviews.
- Run and review reports related to performance management and ensure timely completion by managers.
- Assist with Corporate new hire packets and orientation.
- Maintain complete familiarity with all HR related and Highmark policies.
- Assists in updating HR related policies on the Highmark Portal.
- Provides excellent customer service and timely responses to Highmark associates.
- Assist with new HR/Benefits programs and initiatives.
- Maintains accurate HR records on all associates within UKG.
- Provides operational and administrative back up to the office services team.
- Cross-trains in other HR functional areas
- Commitment to continuous learning to keep up with the changes in employment law within Human Resources and best practices within the apartment industry.
- Maintains strict confidentiality of all personnel information.
- Carries out other duties as assigned by Managers in the HR Department
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, college degree preferred
- 3 to 5 years of HR administrative experience
- Average proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- UltiPro (UKG) experience, preferred
- Professional communication skills, verbal and written
- Excellent planning, analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong customer service, organizational skills and team player disposition
- Proven ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong time management skills with acute attention to detail
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus
