Life doesn’t always follow a fixed schedule. That’s why we created the Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position: a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career with the industry leader.

As a Security Officer Armed Enhanced Part Time College Degree Patrol in Miami, FL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $22.26 / Hour

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific policies, access-control procedures, and emergency response activities at government facilities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and contacting appropriate emergency personnel when needed.
• Monitor access points, verify authorization for entry, and maintain awareness of visitor and vehicle activity in accordance with government facility procedures.
• Prepare accurate reports and documentation regarding incidents, patrol activities, observations, and other security-related matters.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a college degree.
• Possess a DD214 with an honorable discharge, an associate degree, 60 college credits, a police academy certificate, or a corrections academy certificate.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Baton certification is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience are preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
