Position Overview

Citadel Security USA is seeking a dependable Armed Security Officer to provide full-time daytime security coverage in Grand Junction. This position is responsible for maintaining a secure environment through routine interior and exterior patrols, continuous awareness of activity, camera monitoring, and appropriate response to potential security concerns.

The successful candidate should be alert, professional, and capable of maintaining a calm and controlled presence throughout the assignment. This role requires sound judgment, consistent attention to detail, and the ability to follow established procedures when addressing security-related situations.
 

Core Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled foot patrols throughout assigned interior areas.
• Perform routine exterior patrols to identify unusual activity, security concerns, or potential hazards.
• Maintain a visible armed security presence throughout the assigned location.
• Monitor camera systems and remain attentive to activity observed through surveillance equipment.
• Identify and report suspicious behavior, unauthorized activity, safety concerns, or potential threats.
• Help protect assigned areas against internal and external security concerns.
• Respond to incidents in accordance with post orders, company procedures, and applicable requirements.
• Maintain awareness of entrances, exits, surrounding areas, and other designated points of concern.
• Communicate significant observations or incidents promptly to supervisors or designated personnel.
• Complete required activity logs, incident reports, and other documentation accurately.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding security-related information.
• Follow all company policies, post orders, safety procedures, and assignment-specific instructions.
• Maintain professional conduct when interacting with employees, visitors, vendors, and other authorized individuals.
   

Required Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Ability to lawfully possess and carry a personal firearm as required for the assignment.
• Ability to meet all applicable armed-security licensing and qualification requirements.
• Strong observation and situational-awareness skills.
• Ability to remain alert and attentive throughout the entire shift.
• Sound judgment and the ability to respond appropriately to changing circumstances.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow detailed post orders and established procedures.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to successfully complete required background and employment screening.
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous armed security experience.
• Experience conducting interior and exterior foot patrols.
• Familiarity with CCTV or other surveillance systems.
• Experience responding to security incidents or potential threats.
• Experience preparing incident reports and daily activity documentation.
• Prior experience working independently in a security-sensitive environment.
• Strong conflict-management and professional communication skills.
