Location: Glenwood Springs, CO 81602

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Schedule

• Thursday - Saturday: 5:45 PM - 6:00 AM
• Every Other Wednesday: 7:30 AM - 12:30 PM
• Approximately 37 hours per week
• Overtime may be available based on operational needs.
   

Position Summary

Citadel Security USA is seeking a dependable Armed Security Officer to provide professional security coverage at an assigned location in Glenwood Springs. This role requires a strong security presence, careful observation, consistent adherence to procedures, and the ability to respond appropriately when conditions change.

The officer will perform scheduled security checks, monitor assigned areas, support authorized personnel, respond to security concerns, and maintain accurate shift documentation. Because the position operates within a structured and controlled environment, candidates must demonstrate professionalism, discretion, sound judgment, and reliable communication.
 

Responsibilities

Security Coverage & Patrols

• Maintain an alert and professional armed presence throughout assigned areas.
• Complete scheduled patrols, inspections, and security checks according to established procedures.
• Observe assigned areas for unauthorized activity, safety concerns, procedural violations, or unusual conditions.
• Identify issues requiring attention and communicate them through the appropriate chain of command.
• Follow company policies, post orders, assignment procedures, and applicable laws.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings throughout extended shifts.
   

Coordination With Authorized Personnel

• Work cooperatively with supervisors, authorized personnel, coworkers, and designated partners.
• Provide security assistance within the responsibilities and limitations of the position.
• Follow lawful directions from designated personnel.
• Maintain professional communication during routine operations and special assignments.
• Support coordinated security activities when additional assistance is requested.
   

Incident Response

• Respond promptly to security-related incidents occurring within assigned areas.
• Evaluate changing circumstances and take appropriate action within training, company policy, and applicable law.
• Follow established emergency procedures and assignment-specific instructions.
• Notify supervisors and designated personnel when an incident requires additional attention or resources.
• Maintain composure and professionalism during challenging or rapidly developing situations.
• Assist with coordinated responses when directed and within the scope of assigned duties.
   

Documentation & Communication

• Complete daily activity reports accurately and within required timeframes.
• Document incidents, unusual activity, safety concerns, observations, and other relevant events.
• Provide clear shift updates during briefings, handoffs, and supervisor communications.
• Ensure important information is communicated to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive operational information.
• Complete all required records in accordance with company procedures.
   

Authorized Movement & Transport Support

• Provide security support during authorized movement or transport activities when assigned.
• Help maintain secure routes, access points, and designated areas during scheduled movements.
• Coordinate with authorized personnel throughout movement-related assignments.
• Remain attentive to changing conditions while supporting special security activities.
• Provide additional coverage or assistance when operational requirements call for it and when within the scope of the position.
   

Required Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must be able to satisfy all applicable Colorado armed security licensing requirements.
• Personal duty firearm that meets applicable laws and company requirements.
• Ability to successfully complete required background screening.
• Ability to work the assigned overnight schedule and extended shifts.
• Strong observation and situational-awareness skills.
• Ability to recognize and communicate changing or unusual conditions.
• Clear, professional verbal and written communication.
• Sound judgment and responsible decision-making.
• Ability to work effectively with supervisors, authorized personnel, coworkers, and other assigned partners.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to remain attentive, professional, and composed throughout extended shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working as an armed security officer.
• Experience in corrections, detention, military service, law enforcement, or a related field.
• Previous work in a controlled-access or security-sensitive environment.
• Familiarity with authorized movement, escort, or transport procedures.
• Experience completing activity logs, incident reports, or other security documentation.
• Strong conflict-management and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Experience working effectively within structured procedures and established chains of command.
