Director - APAC Head of Equity Finance

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Business Development:

• Forge critical partnerships with local product and trading teams to uncover and fulfil the unique business demands of Asian markets.
• Act as the voice of Asia, articulating its Equity Finance and Prime Finance strategy to global leadership.
• Collaborate seamlessly with Risk, Controls, and Operations, embedding robust compliance and upholding the highest regulatory and internal policy standards.

Accelerated Delivery:

• Spearhead rapid, cutting-edge technical solutions bespoke to Asia's unique client and market dynamics, directly shaping and catapulting our Prime Growth agenda.
• Hands on engineering expertise leveraging Java, Python and event based processing to deliver top tier technical solutions.
• Collaborate closely with global technical leads to ensure our solutions not only comply with platform standards but also set new benchmarks for innovation, always guiding near term efforts towards strategic long-term vision.
• Spearhead the integration of AI development practices and tools to dramatically boost delivery speed, efficiency, and intelligence across our technical solutions.
• Champion technological enhancements and automation initiatives, relentlessly pursuing operational efficiency, superior client service, and a competitive edge.

Stakeholder Management & Communication:

• Manage senior stakeholder communication for Prime Finance, providing direct face-off to senior leads across the region.  Close coordination will be required with global technical leads.
• Represent the APAC Equity Finance business in various internal and external forums.
• Ensure transparent and effective communication regarding business performance, strategic initiatives, and market developments.

Team Leadership & Development:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of developers locally.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Conduct performance reviews, provide regular feedback, and support career development for team members.
• Attract, develop, and retain top engineering and leadership talent; actively manage succession and capability depth.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 15+ years of experience in Equity Finance or Prime Brokerage, with experience in a leadership position.
• Extensive knowledge of securities lending, repo, synthetic equity products, and prime brokerage.
• A strong background in engineering using Java, Python and AI technologies to advance rapid development.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, particularly in engaging senior stakeholders.
• Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong technical understanding and ability to manage development teams.
• Ability to navigate complex organizational structures and influence stakeholders across different regions and functions.
• Strong awareness of regulatory, risk, and control requirements applicable to global markets and prime services technology.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
• Master’s degree preferred
